As a seasoned viewer of Emmerdale, I must say that the upcoming storylines are as captivating as ever. The plot twist with Amelia Spencer leaving the village is particularly poignant, given her close bond with Kerry Wyatt. It’s hard not to feel a pang of nostalgia at the thought of another character departing, especially one who has grown up in the village.
This article contains discussion of domestic abuse, including coercive control, that some readers may find upsetting.
Soon, viewers can expect to witness Tom King (portrayed by James Chase) testify in court. However, the question remains: Will Belle (played by Eden Taylor-Draper) find the justice she deserves after the mistreatment she suffered?
In another corner, I, a devoted cinephile, find myself rooting for Will Taylor (Dean Andrews), as he encounters a hurdle in his relentless pursuit of disrupting the plans of his formidable spouse, Kim Tate (Claire King).
Amelia Spencer’s (Daisy Campbell) exit will be shown before the holiday period, as romance blossoms between Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) and John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth).
In a different phrasing, Brenda Walker (Lesley Dunlop) misunderstands the situation, whereas April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) takes on the part of a challenging teen.
Here are all the latest Emmerdale spoilers as we get closer to Christmas.
6 Emmerdale spoilers for 16th – 20th December 2024
1. Tom King fakes hospital emergency ahead of trial – will Belle get justice?
Upon hearing news from the prison, I found myself deeply concerned when they announced a critical situation in Tom’s cell. Word quickly reached his former wife, Belle, that he had been urgently transferred to the hospital, following an attempt to end his own life. It was a heart-wrenching moment for me, as I could only imagine the turmoil she must be feeling.
With Tom’s scheduled court appearance approaching, there is speculation as to whether the trial will proceed, causing Belle to experience another bout of anxiety or instability.
The family attempts to support the young woman, yet Belle finds herself petrified at the thought of being responsible for Tom’s demise, and wonders whether she truly has the courage to seek justice.

In a conversation with Paddy Dingle (Dominic Brunt), Belle discusses Tom’s recent suicide attempt. However, it remains unclear if Paddy’s advice will bring clarity or only add to Belle’s confusion.
Meanwhile, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) gains access to Tom’s hospital room, alarming Tom.

However, as she attempts to get Tom to confess that he staged his suicide attempt to disrupt the trial and Belle’s testimony, Tom understands that Belle is likely in a state of turmoil. This realization leaves Charity wishing she hadn’t interfered.
During Tom’s hospital visit from his lawyer, Alistair Toovey (Ollie), Tom expresses his belief that Belle might choose not to testify anymore.
The following day, as the trial was set to commence, Belle penned a cryptic message for her loved ones and stealthily departed from the Dingle residence.
In a confident manner, Tom readies himself to deliver an outstanding show, as the Dingles frantically look for Belle who’s gone missing. However, the defense attorney acknowledges that without Belle’s testimony, it may be challenging to win their case.

Oliver shares with Thomas that Bella hasn’t made it to the courthouse yet, and Thomas shows his satisfaction upon witnessing the results of his hard work. Assembling now, the panel, Thomas readies himself for victory, standing tall as he prepares to be in the limelight.
But will Belle show up and speak her truth?

2. Will Taylor panics over scheme as the Fletchers get happy news

Kim feels moved by Will’s idea of making their vow renewal a private event, but she starts to have second thoughts upon realizing that he doesn’t plan on inviting their family.
However, when stepdaughter Dawn Fletcher (played by Olivia Bromley) shows interest in going, Kim feels delighted.
In simpler terms, Kim requests a moved Dawn to return to Home Farm, and the situation improves further as baby Evan’s doctor suggests that he could possibly be home by Christmas.
Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle), however, refuses to move back to Home Farm, and Dawn is torn.

As the situation becomes tighter for cunning Will, Kim discloses an unexpected turn of events: not just the arrival of Dawn and the children at the vow renewal, but also a possible return of them living together once more.
In a recent cinematic experience, I found myself drawn into the gripping tale of Dawn and Billy, whose peaceful life was suddenly disrupted by an unexpected demand from Jai Sharma – vacate Holdgate within a week. As a reviewer, I was left reeling, much like our protagonists, as the story unfolded with a sense of urgency that kept me on the edge of my seat.
Regarding Will, he becomes anxious about his scheme upon Dawn’s arrival with her possessions, and makes a concerted effort to discourage her from moving in.
How will Dawn react, and will Will’s plotting be exposed?
3. Amelia Spencer exits the village

Amelia announces that she’s moving away from the village.
At the spur of the moment, Amy Barton (Natalie Ann Jamieson) organizes a farewell bash for Amelia, but Amelia is disheartened when Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton), who has been like a mother figure to her, doesn’t make an appearance.
Later on, Amelia seems emotional while saying goodbye, yet it remains uncertain if Kerry will allow Amelia to depart without a heartfelt adieu.
4. Aaron Dingle and John Sugden confess their love

Aaron is unimpressed when John surprises him with a camping trip.
However, the journey takes a brighter turn, as John eventually reveals his feelings, leading to a stronger emotional bond between them.
As a movie enthusiast, I’m not shy about confessing my feelings – United, Aaron, and I share a deep love for each other. The question now is, will our bond continue to flourish and become even stronger?
We’re still not sure John can be trusted, but are we right to be so wary?
5. Brenda Walker jumps to conclusions over Eric Pollard

Kerry realises that Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) is struggling with his housework.
However, upon Brenda’s arrival with supplies, she overhears the duo upstairs and misunderstands the situation!
Can Kerry and Pollard set Brenda straight?
6. April Windsor rebels after recent events

Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) despairs at April’s sudden rebellious streak.
What exactly is the usually sensible youngster up to?
Lately, April found herself in peril as Jade (Twinnie-Lee Moore) commanded her goons to suspend the teenager from a parking garage, with Ross Barton (Michael Parr) unable to intervene.
Has this experience changed April?
