As a seasoned observer of Weatherfield’s residents, I must say that this week promises to be quite eventful! The Plummer family is about to embark on a new chapter with Evelyn’s departure for university. Roy, ever the romantic, might find solace in a pint or two, but I suspect he’ll miss her more than he lets on.
A shocking incident has the people of Weatherfield on edge, as the character Mason Radcliffe, portrayed by Luca Toolan, is viciously attacked and left unconscious.
After the recent events, I find myself grappling alongside Joseph Brown (William Flanagan) and Abi Webster (Sally Carman-Duttine). We’re facing some tough times together.
Meanwhile, Lisa Swain, known as Vicky Myers, stumbles upon something interesting, and Carla Connor receives some bleak updates. Could her brother, Rob Donovan, offer assistance in this situation?
In a simple and conversational manner: Goodbye to the cobblestones for Evelyn Plummer (played by Maureen Lipman), while David Platt (performed by Jack P Shepherd) is in hot pursuit.
Finally, Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) asks a very important question.

7 Coronation Street spoilers for 6th – 10th January 2025
1. Mason Radcliffe is stabbed – will he survive?
Mason decides to depart from Weatherfield, intending to distance himself from his brothers Matty and Logan. However, when Abi discovers Mason pilfering heather from her deceased son Seb’s (Harry Visinoni) remembrance garden for Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin), she sternly reprimands him and forces him to leave immediately.
Betsy doubts Mason’s claim that he wasn’t involved in Becky’s demise, yet Sally Metcalfe empathizes with Mason, explaining how tough it must have been for him to report his own kin to the authorities.
Mason expresses regret to Liam Connor (played by Charlie Wrenshall) over his past bullying actions, and subsequently, he returns to the precinct alongside Dylan Wilson (portrayed by Liam McCheyne).
Following Kit Green (previously known as Jacob Roberts) questioning Matty and Logan about the World War II helmet, the duo began searching for Mason. In pursuit, they chased after Mason and Dylan who were fleeing from them.
Matt and Logan find themselves cornering their younger sibling, aggressively assaulting him. Meanwhile, Dylan shouts for them to halt, but his pleas fall on deaf ears as they manage to escape from this perilous predicament.
Soon after, Abigail discovers Mason with a stab wound in the kids’ playground, swiftly grabbing her scarf to attempt to stop the blood flow as she cries out for assistance.
Upon the arrival of the ambulance, Dylan shares with Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) that Mason was wounded with a knife resembling something from a zombie movie, inflicted by his siblings, Matty and Logan.
Inside the ambulance, Betsy clasps Mason’s hand tightly while both she and Abi strive to comfort him, assuring him he’ll be alright. However, the question remains: Will Mason pull through?
2. Lisa Swain confronts Carla Connor over Betsy secret – as Rob Donovan returns to screens

Betsy tells Lisa that she was involved in a theft at the factory with Matty and Logan, and furthermore, reveals that Carla had knowledge of it but asked her to keep it secret. This shocking disclosure leaves Lisa stunned.
She confronts Carla in hospital, and Carla apologises for keeping quiet, explaining that she was simply trying to protect Lisa.
As Lisa becomes more yielding, other matters arise when Bobby Crawford (Jack Carroll) proposes to give a kidney to Carla should the need ever arise.
Carla feels moved initially, but eventually feels utterly crushed upon discovering that the injury to her kidney is quite extensive, meaning she’s undoubtedly in need of a transplant.
Bobby and Ryan Connor (also known as Ryan Prescott) express shock, and Ryan proposes giving a kidney donation, which Carla firmly refuses and questions where Bobby might be.
Bobby has gone to see his incarcerated father, Rob, in prison. Rob is taken aback when he learns that Bobby is there to convince him to donate a kidney to their sister, Carla. However, it remains to be seen how Rob will respond to this request.
3. Joseph Brown makes horrifying confession

Following Asha informing Dev about a fake call causing the delay of the ambulance reaching Mason, Joseph admits to the authorities that he orchestrated the situation leading the paramedics astray.
Joseph will be released with a warning for young offenders shortly, and Fiz Dobbs (played by Jennie McAlpine) shows understanding since she realizes Hope was involved in the incident.
In a turn of events that brings a glimmer of hope, I find myself rejoicing alongside the family as Chesney cashes a £20k check – a heartening recompense for the unfortunate demise of Les Battersby, a character played masterfully by Bruce Jones.
Gemma insists on a celebratory drink, but as for Hope, will she feel any remorse?
4. Abi Webster struggles after a shocking event

The neighborhood’s buzzing with gossip due to the reported discovery of the knife linked to a stabbing incident. Abi finds it difficult to cope after witnessing such a traumatic event, and upon hearing a broadcast about the stabbing, she fears that it might be Seb who was involved.
As the week unfolds, Abi persists in finding things challenging, momentarily losing sight of her son Alfie in the playground.
In a state of panic, Abi hunts for him, but upon spotting him with Toyah Habeeb (Georgia Taylor), Abi immediately accuses her of kidnapping him.
At home, Abi finds herself unable to divert her gaze from Alfie, while Kevin Webster expresses worry. Will Abi decide to confide in her spouse?
5. Evelyn Plummer leaves for a new adventure

Evelyn informs Roy Cropper that she has a university induction later in the day. However, when Tyrone Dobbs requests Evelyn to look after the children, it’s evident that she feels burdened by the task.
Later on, Evelyn informs Yasmeen Metcalfe (Shelley King) that she is planning to move into a dormitory for students today, and she’s eagerly looking forward to beginning her law studies.
Yasmeen harbors feelings of jealousy, as Roy informs Evelyn that he’ll dearly miss her. Fiz and Tyrone catch up with Evelyn, who is savoring a goodbye drink with Roy, Yasmeen, and Brian Packham (Peter Gunn).
Tyrone has packed the car, and soon it’s time to go – will Evelyn find success in her new venture?
6. David Platt is out for Kit Green’s blood

As a devoted cinephile, I’ve been witnessing the ongoing struggle in the relationship between David and Shona. Despite his callous behavior towards her, it’s clear that he’s lost in his own world. However, Sarah, my beloved friend, is at her wit’s end, pleading with him to let go of the past for the sake of their marriage. Her words echo in my mind as I watch their story unfold on screen.
Kit gets a call from Shona, informing him that Matty and Logan are in Freshco car park.
Kit instructs him to depart immediately, and Sarah happens to hear this, feeling worried. Upon attempting to inform David about it, he misunderstands the situation and rushes to take Sarah’s vehicle, driving fast in an attempt to catch up with Kit.
How will their clash end?
7. Dev Alahan proposes to Bernie Winter – again

Following their previous failed proposal, Dev once more extends the question to Bernice Winter (Jane Hazlegrove). However, the question remains whether she’ll say yes this time around.
As a dedicated film buff, I recall a moment when I found myself in an unexpected predicament – my partner had proposed while we were going through some challenges. But now, I can’t help but question: Is he committing for all the right reasons this time around?
