7 Must-Play PlayStation Exclusives Still Missing from PC!

PlayStation is a leading global gaming company, largely due to its exceptional collection of games. Over the years, PlayStation has built a strong reputation for creating immersive and high-quality exclusive games that receive both commercial and critical acclaim. Many of these successes come from single-player games featuring thrilling action, likable characters, and captivating narratives, as seen in Uncharted, The Last of Us, Spider-Man, and God of War. For a long time, PlayStation’s exclusive franchises and partnerships with studios like Naughty Dog and Insomniac Games have been key factors encouraging gamers to purchase PlayStation consoles. However, this need is diminishing now that PlayStation has expanded its reach to PC platforms such as Steam.

Over the past five years or so, an increasing number of exclusive PlayStation titles have become available on personal computers. Lately, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was released for PC, about a year following its initial PS5 debut. This popular superhero game played a significant role in boosting PS5 sales in the year 2023 due to the widespread adoration for the character. Another highly anticipated PlayStation exclusive, The Last of Us Part 2, is also expected to arrive on PC before the second season of The Last of Us premieres on HBO. Although many major PlayStation games have now transitioned to PC platforms, there are still quite a few that remain exclusive for the time being.

Here are the seven biggest PlayStation games that still need to come to PC:

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection

It’s quite surprising and incongruous that the first three Uncharted games haven’t been released on PC yet. Given the massive popularity of this franchise on PlayStation, it’s particularly striking because the latest game, Uncharted 4, loses some of its punch without playing the preceding titles. The fact that Uncharted 4 is available on PC makes this omission even more puzzling.

Drake’s Fortune could pave the way for its release on PC, but it remains uncertain whether the entire trilogy will ever become available there.

Bloodborne

The fanbase of the game Bloodborne, initially released on PS4 in 2015 and often considered one of the best PS4 games and possibly the best Souls game, is exceptionally passionate yet frequently overlooked. Although the game can be played on PS5 thanks to backward compatibility, fans have been yearning for a well-deserved remaster that would also make it accessible on PC. Regrettably, it appears that neither Sony nor FromSoftware have shown any inclination towards such a project. For years now, pleas for new Bloodborne content have gone unanswered, leaving fans everywhere disappointed.

The Original God of War Trilogy

As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve deeply enjoyed the epic journeys in God of War (2018) and its sequel, God of War Ragnarok, now available on PC. However, the original trilogy that set the stage for these masterpieces remains exclusive to PlayStation consoles. These games, originally released on PS2 and PS3, were iconic titles that defined those platforms.

While you can certainly appreciate the new God of War games without playing the originals, they do offer a rich backstory that adds depth to Kratos’ tale. It would be fantastic to experience these formative chapters on PC, and there’s speculation that might become a reality soon. Rumors swirl about a remastered God of War collection for PS5, which could bring the original games to a wider audience once again.

Infamous

Before the creation of the Spider-Man games, PlayStation experimented with their own superhero series, known as Infamous. Over three games, this series introduced two distinct heroes: Cole MacGrath in the first two installments and Delsin Rowe in the exclusive PS4 game, “Infamous Second Son.” These games offer an immersive superhero experience, allowing players to decide between using their powers for good or evil based on a morality system. The unique blend of choice and superhero action sets Infamous apart within a competitive genre. While it would be exciting to see all three games compiled in a collection for PC and PS5, it remains uncertain if PlayStation wants to overshadow the popularity of Spider-Man.

Shadow of the Colossus

The 2018 remake of “Shadow of the Colossus” for PS4 is a breathtaking recreation of an iconic PlayStation game, maintaining its original essence while updating it to match contemporary gaming standards. The colossal environments are meticulously recreated, making it an unforgettable experience that every gamer should try. It’s surprising that PlayStation hasn’t yet made this masterpiece available on PC.

Demon’s Souls

Once again, a cherished PlayStation-exclusive Souls series title found its place on the list thanks to “Demon’s Souls.” Interestingly, “Demon’s Souls” was the first game in the Souls series and generated some mystery when it initially appeared on PS3. It was notoriously challenging, causing a few players to step away from it at launch. However, it received a much warmer reception when it resurfaced as a PlayStation 5 launch title, as gamers had become more familiar with the genre by that point. Since most PlayStation 5 exclusives are now available on PC, it seems fitting that “Demon’s Souls” should follow suit and invite even more individuals to join in the fun.

Astro Bot

Among all the items on this roster, “Astro Bot” appears to be the least probable for a PC release. This game involves constructing a PS5, essentially, which the robots then utilize as a spacecraft. It’s essentially a celebration of PlayStation, and while that’s not necessarily a negative aspect, it heavily emphasizes the platform’s history. There’s a possibility that “Astro Bot” might transition to PC at some point, but it could feel somewhat misplaced. Still, it would be wonderful if more individuals had the opportunity to enjoy the 2024 Game of the Year recipient.
