As a seasoned Corrie viewer with a keen eye for character development, it seems Hope Dobbs hasn’t learned her lesson yet. The girl is still playing with fire, both literally and figuratively. With her secret vaping habit and the constant threat to Ruby, one can’t help but wonder if she’s got another fire burning somewhere. And why, oh why, didn’t Fiz and Ty dispose of that vape when they first found it? It’s like they’re asking for trouble!
This coming week promises to be quite hectic in Weatherfield. Carla Connor (Alison King) encounters peril, while also experiencing a surprising encounter with DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers).
As a devoted cinephile, I’m thrilled to find John Thomson stepping back into the shoes of Jesse Chadwick. Yet, I can’t help but wonder, what has brought Jesse back to the cobbled streets following such a long absence?
In a shocking turn of events, DC Kit Green, played by Jacob Roberts, stumbles upon a startling fact about Joel Deering, portrayed by Calum Lill. Meanwhile, Sarah Platt, acted by Tina O’Brien, reaches out to her former partner, Damon Hay, played by Ciarán Griffiths, regarding their ill daughter Bethany Platt, who is brilliantly brought to life by Lucy Fallon.
Paul Foreman’s (Peter Ash) final wishes are unveiled to those dear to him, as Hope Dobbs (Isabella Flanagan) seems poised to ignite a new crisis!
In simpler terms, the character Mason Radcliffe, played by Luca Toolan, is visited by his sibling Logan. Meanwhile, another character named Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) seeks a conversation with his former lover, Toyah Habeeb (Georgia Taylor).
Here are all your Coronation Street spoilers from 7th -11th October 2024.
8 Coronation Street spoilers next week
1. Danger for Carla Connor amid tender moment with Lisa Swain
The day of Carla takes a turn for the worse as Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) informs a crucial client that Carla is in court due to an Assault Causing Bodily Harm charge, and Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) reveals that Sarah is currently in Turkey.
At the court, Carla comes face-to-face with Tom, the father of the boy she knocked over.
At the factory, the client’s displeasure goes unnoticed by Carla as she directs her frustration towards Betsy and Sarah. Meanwhile, Tom secretly observes from a distance.
Carla jumps in surprise as Tom shows up, clearly angry. Could Carla be in trouble with Tom? As the day progresses, a sweet instance with Lisa makes Carla uncertain and question whether Lisa shared the same sentiment.
Toward the end of the workweek, Carla treats Betsy to a cup of coffee at a local café and offers her the opportunity to return to her previous position. This news brings joy to Betsy, while Carla proposes discussing some matters with Lisa.
What will happen next between the two women?
The actress, King, has disclosed the emotions that Carla experiences as her bond with Lisa matures into something deeper.
2. Jesse Chadwick returns
As a passionate film enthusiast, I find myself in a tight spot, much like my favorite character Gail Rodwell. You see, I’ve had to take out a short-term loan to ensure my granddaughter Bethany gets the medical evacuation she urgently needs. This financial move has put me in a position where I am now dedicated to selling my beloved home. The parallels between our stories are striking, aren’t they? It’s all about the sacrifices we make for those we love.
After coming back to the UK, Bethany swears to Gail that she’ll repay her, but Gail quickly becomes preoccupied with a recognizable figure!
Upon Eileen Grimshaw’s (Sue Cleaver) return from Thailand, she encounters a shocking sight: her former partner, Jesse, stepping out of a cab.
Gail expresses the same surprise when she sees Jesse, as she explains to Eileen how she and Jesse had met long ago in Thailand. Jesse claims he came to ensure Gail was alright, and she invites him inside their home, leaving the Platts puzzled by his sudden appearance.
Jesse admits that he’s familiar with Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson), as he appears in Sarah’s wedding pictures, and Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) advises Sarah and David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) to have a conversation with Jesse.
Later on, Jesse meets up with Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) for a beer, and reveals the true reason behind his return to Weatherfield. Therefore, what’s bringing Jesse back this time?
In a recent interview, Thompson discussed the evolution of his character since its last portrayal back in 2010.
3. Kit Green’s horrifying discovery about Joel Deering
Kit retrieves the files from Joel’s computer and is shocked by their contents. Later, Kit reaches out to Lisa, but as the workweek progresses at the police station, Kit confesses that he’s finding it difficult to advance with the Joel investigation.
From my perspective as a film enthusiast, one might wonder about the fate of Joel’s supposed victims. Initially, it seemed plausible that the malevolent character had taken his own life, but Joel and Lisa’s investigations revealed clues suggesting the antagonist might not have perished after all. Could it be that Joel is indeed still alive? That’s the intriguing question left unanswered in this gripping tale.
4. Sarah Platt calls Damon Hay amid big Bethany Platt decision
Daniel Osbourne, portrayed by Rob Mallard, confides to dad Ken Barlow (William Roache) that he fears his influence might be behind Bethany’s struggles with self-image and body issues. In the intensive care unit, Daniel attempts to see Bethany, but Sarah Platt makes it clear that his presence is not desired at this time.
Afterwards, Bethany confides in Daniel that her life has undergone a transformation, suggesting he might prefer Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) instead. As Bethany grapples with the long-term implications of her stoma, will Daniel be able to persuade her to reconsider?
While Adam talks to Daniel about Damon’s secret funds, he subsequently reveals to Sarah that Damon proposed to cover Bethany’s medical expenses, though he erased the message from her phone.
Sarah calls Damon in prison, but will she take up his offer?
For those moved by Bethany’s narrative, assistance and support can be found at Colostomy UK. Additionally, you may reach out to them anytime via their 24-hour helpline: 0800 328 4257.
5. Paul Foreman’s wish list is revealed
In a natural, easy-to-understand manner: Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby), Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove), and Gemma Winter-Brown (Dolly-Rose Campbell) convene as Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) recites Paul’s desired items.
Paul bequeathed his collection of VHS tapes to Bernie, a hoodie to Gemma, a unique mug to Summer, affection to Billy, and a special note for his younger sibling Kit.
As the week progresses, a mourning Gemma feels moved when her husband Chesney Brown (Sam Aston) insists she take a day off – however, in the kebab shop, anxious Ches realizes that he has forgotten about the children’s half-day and needs to pick them up.
6. Has Hope Dobbs started another fire?
Secretly, Hope continues vaping and warns Ruby Dobbs (Billie Naylor) not to reveal their actions to their parents. Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) encourages Hope and Ruby to cooperate for the well-being of Fiz Dobbs (Jennie McAlpine).
In due course, Carla Mendonça (Mrs. Crawshaw) stops by for a conversation with Fiz and Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall), regarding Hope’s recent mishaps.
Hope convinces them all she has stopped vaping, but is gutted when Mrs Crawshaw says she can come back to school. After she’s left, Hope sneaks her vape out of the sideboard when Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) calls her to help in the shop.
Instead of saying “stuffs the vape back in the sideboard and leaves the house, not noticing the smoke escaping from the drawer”, you could rephrase it as: After putting his vape away in the sideboard, he exits the house without realizing that some smoke was leaking from its drawer.
As Ruby is about to arrive home from school, one might wonder if Arsonist Hope has rekindled the flame once more. And for goodness’ sake, why didn’t Fiz and Ty throw away that vape device as soon as they discovered it?
7. Mason Radcliffe’s brother Logan causes trouble
On his initial day at college, Stu Carpenter (Bill Fellows) and Yasmeen Metcalfe (Shelley King) extend good wishes to Mason. However, as the day progresses, it turns out that Mason and Betsy share their less-than-ideal experiences instead.
Surprisingly blunt with Stu and Yasmeen, Eileen scolds them for allowing Mason an opportunity, which leaves them taken aback. In the meantime, as Stu accidentally kicks Mason’s bag, a hoodie slips out and Mason promptly puts it back in his sack.
Eileen advises Yasmeen against allowing Stu to intimidate her into keeping Mason close, yet a more immediate issue arises when Mason notices Logan observing him from his vehicle.
Stuart heads toward Logan to talk, but Logan takes off before Stuart gets the chance. Subsequently, Stuart and Yasmeen discover that someone has shattered their window with a brick.
How might Yasmeen respond when Stu reveals his suspicion that Logan, who’s been pushing Mason into a robbery scheme, is involved?
8. Nick Tilsley asks for an audience with Toyah Habeeb
Shona suggests Nick should clarify his situation with Toyah, leading Nick to visit her apartment and express the need for a conversation whether she likes it or not.
Given that Toyah informed Nick she picked his sister Leanne instead of him, it’s important for Nick to understand the situation clearly. So, one might wonder, what explanation or response could Toyah possibly offer now?
