David Murphey, who featured on ’90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days’ back in 2020, tragically passed away on December 11 at the age of 66. This was confirmed through a family statement, as he had faced health issues for several years prior.
It was shared on Instagram on December 18th by David’s dear ones that he was a veteran, entrepreneur of a small business, and a software engineer. He had recently retired from the Clark County Treasurer’s office in Nevada, where he also previously worked for H&R Block and IGT.
Additionally, David’s relatives brought attention to his time on the reality program, as it followed his contentious online relationship with his girlfriend from Ukraine, who goes by Lana.
Being part of that show was an incredible journey for me, enabling me to forge connections with countless viewers, gain fresh perspectives on life, and document my adventures for my numerous Instagram followers. I’m truly going to miss the love and support from my dear family, close friends, and fans as I step away from this experience.
The television personality is left behind by his two sisters, along with his cherished feline companion, named Gamera. Notably, his family highlighted his deep affection for cats, suggesting that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a shelter in Las Vegas in his honor. They also mentioned that he was diligent about adopting and providing a loving home for these cats.
During the fourth season of Before the 90 Days, members of David’s close friends circle frequently voiced worries about his long-distance relationship that lasted for seven years. Following his proposal to Lana in the season finale, they eventually parted ways, but David remained determined to find love online, as he disclosed on 90 Day Diaries in 2022.
