As a seasoned gamer with a deep appreciation for tabletop games, especially those based on comic books or superheroes, I’m beyond thrilled about the DC Super Heroes United campaign by Spin Master and CMON. The project’s success on Gamefound has surpassed expectations, with an impressive $770,500+ raised, far exceeding its initial goal of $200,000.
Spin Master and CMON have extended an invitation to DC Super Heroes United fans to explore this new live project on Gamefound. The campaign has surpassed its original $200,000 goal with a staggering total of over $770,500 raised and 18 days remaining. Alongside the core game, backers will receive a Teen Titans expansion and an exclusive set of playable heroes – the Wonder Twins and their super monkey Gleek. Additional stretch goals are expected to be unlocked in due time. The Titans expansion is currently available for purchase, but given CMON’s past campaigns, we can anticipate more expansions being released.
Teen Titans Expansion
The Teen Titans expansion for DC Super Heroes United offers a fresh experience by introducing four new playable characters: Robin (Dick Grayson), Raven, Starfire, and Beast Boy, exclusively available through the Gamefound campaign. This addition comes with two unique equipment cards – Robin’s Batarang and Escrima Sticks – and eight Animal Form cards for Beast Boy’s shape-shifting abilities.
To engage in an exciting showdown, you’ll require formidable adversaries. Fortunately, this expansion introduces two of the Titans’ most formidable enemies: Deathstroke and Trigon. Deathstroke is a master assassin, employing lethal techniques during his turns, and he gains an early advantage, taking two consecutive turns at the game’s outset. As for Trigon, standing tall at 14 centimeters, he can emerge in any matchup, forcing the Titans to work together and expel him from this realm.
Core Set and Stretch Goals
In this version, the fundamental game elements present Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Cyborg, and Aquaman as the primary characters. These heroes will encounter adversaries such as Joker, Darkseid, Cheetah, and Lex Luthor. Each antagonist brings unique challenges and necessitates different approaches from players. Concurrently, the heroes offer distinct abilities and cooperative gameplay elements that require players to leverage their powers effectively, save civilians, overcome henchmen, manage threats, and eventually defeat the bosses to emerge victorious.
The DC Super Heroes United campaign has surpassed its initial goals, granting access to an array of additional characters. So far, this includes playable heroes such as Wildcat, Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, Mega Man, Red Tornado, Black Lightning, Martian Manhunter, and Vixen. For the villains, we’ve unlocked Black Mask, Black Manta, Parasite, Gorilla Grodd, Despero, and Steppenwolf. Furthermore, other stretch goals have been achieved, like Complications Challenge cards, as well as new Super Hero and Super-Villain cards. The upcoming milestone will bring Ra’s al Ghul to the game. Additionally, backers of this campaign receive a Power Girl figure exclusively.
