What’s Next for Dragon Ball?
Later this year, Dragon Ball fans can look forward to a grand return of the franchise with the new anime series, Dragon Ball Daima. Set to debut sometime in Fall, this exciting addition is being developed to mark the 40th anniversary of Dragon Ball. Although an official release date has yet to be announced at the time of writing, renowned creator Akira Toriyama played a significant role in creating the original storyline and character designs for Dragon Ball Daima. Yoshitaka Yashima and Aya Komaki are helming the project as directors for Toei Animation, while Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru is responsible for bringing Toriyama’s designs to life in animation. Yuuko Kakihara oversees the scripts and plays a pivotal role in their writing process.
Masako Nozawa is set to rejoin the anime production and lend her voice to Kid Goku once more. At present, she’s the only announced cast member for “Dragon Ball Daima” (Dragon Ball Super). Previously, Akira Toriyama hinted at the storyline for this new series: due to a conspiracy, Goku and his companions are transformed into small beings. To resolve the situation, they embark on an exciting journey to a strange and unfamiliar world. This new adventure promises intense action and intrigue in the midst of mystery. Notably, Goku utilizes his Power Pole for combat in this series, an uncommon occurrence.
