Marvel Studios made a bold move by choosing Robert Downey Jr. to star as Iron Man in their first film. He had faced personal struggles previously, and it wasn’t certain he could carry a major movie franchise. But he proved them right, becoming the defining face of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and helping to redefine cinema. Interestingly, he almost missed out on the role, as another Iron Man movie was previously being developed.

Man, I first played the original Bloodlines way back in 2004, and it quickly became one of my all-time favorites. It just had this amazing dark vibe, really smart writing, and a role-playing system that let you really get into the character. Everyone who played it loved how much the game focused on the politics of being a vampire and how your choices actually mattered. It felt so personal, honestly, more so than a lot of RPGs I’ve played since. So, when Bloodlines 2 was announced, expectations were HUGE. We all hoped it would take that incredible experience and update it for today, while still feeling like the same Bloodlines we loved. Sadly, that hasn’t really happened, and the launch week has been…rough, to say the least.

I was really bummed to find out that Death Parade is no longer available to stream anywhere! It used to be on Funimation, then moved to Crunchyroll when those two companies merged, but the license expired and now it’s just…gone. That’s a tough loss, because Death Parade is a truly amazing anime and a lot of fans, myself included, consider it one of the best of its time.

Often called “The Secret of The K-Metal,” this is a complete Superman story written by Jerry Siegel in 1940, only two years after the character first appeared. Because it was created so early in Superman’s history, the story could have drastically changed the hero – and potentially the entire superhero genre. It would have redefined Superman, Lois Lane, Kryptonite, and the idea of secret identities, and it’s considered a remarkably creative piece of work.

Mattson Tomlin, who co-wrote The Batman Part II with Matt Reeves, is working to develop Spider-Man 4. He envisions a story where Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker juggles being Spider-Man with the challenges of fatherhood. In a recent Q&A on X (formerly Twitter), Tomlin shared a hopeful update, saying things are progressing slowly but surely. While he acknowledged the project depends on many factors outside of his control and might not happen at all, he confirmed he hasn’t received a definitive rejection yet.

Vought, being the sole provider of superheroes globally, hasn’t usually had to worry much about the specific individuals on The Seven. As long as a hero could generate social media buzz, they were considered good enough. However, that approach is about to cause problems for The Seven, as it’s now being acknowledged that the team’s overall strength has significantly declined.

Sadly, Shiro Moriya’s Astro Baby has come to an end. The series launched on Shonen Jump+ in February 2024, but experienced several delays during its run. Readers had anticipated a quick finish, and recent reports have confirmed it. However, with 43 chapters completed, the entire science fiction story is now available to read in one go – perfect for a weekend!

The latest game added to Xbox Game Pass has a respectable Metacritic score of 82, though it’s not exceptionally high. Some Game Pass subscribers believe the game, Ninja Gaiden 4 from Team Ninja, PlatinumGames, and Xbox Game Studios, is being overlooked. While developed by Xbox Game Studios, it’s available on multiple platforms, but at launch, it’s only accessible through a Game Pass subscription.
