The Outlast Trials is Adding a New Map, Mode and Difficulty Options on July 16th

As a seasoned gamer with hundreds of hours clocked in various horror titles under my belt, I can’t help but feel a shiver of excitement running down my spine as I anticipate the upcoming update for Red Barrels’ The Outlast Trials. The announcement of Project Lupara has me on the edge of my seat with its fresh additions that are sure to challenge even the most hardened players like myself.

The upcoming update for “The Outlast Trials” by Red Barrels introduces Project Lupara with some exciting new elements. This includes the addition of a new prime asset named Franco “Il Bambino” Barbi, who will relentlessly chase players with a shotgun. Furthermore, there’s a fresh map called The Docks, where players must outmaneuver Barbi and survive, as it comes with new objectives to complete.

Outside Poison the Medicine at The Docks, fresh trials and challenges labeled as New Trials and MK-Challenges await. To proceed with Fuel the Release, players must bring fuel for the court. In Teach the Police Officer, you will need to swap out film reels. Among these, Mansion Escape is particularly intriguing: Players are drawn back to Farewell Mansion, which now comes with a heightened level of difficulty and an exciting new ending to discover.

In the latest update, the game introduces a new playstyle called “Escalation Trials.” Here, participants undergo endless tests with varying modifications. Surviving grants access to fresh enhancements, but a single defeat sends you back to square one. Additionally, players gain a new skill, “Barricade,” which lets them obstruct enemy advancement. Struggling with the challenge can be eased through selecting among four different modes – Introductory, Standard, Intense, and Psychosurgery.

Keep an eye out for further information as “The Outlast Trials” gets released on July 16th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC. You can read our review of the initial version in the meantime.
