Willy's Candy Spectacular: A Musical Parody Full Cast Revealed, Including Actors From Gene Wilder Movie

As a long-time gamer and musical theater enthusiast, I can hardly contain my excitement for “Willy’s Candy Spectacular: A Musical Parody.” The recent casting announcement has me in awe! With two original cast members from the 1971 Willy Wonka film joining the lineup, this production is shaping up to be an unforgettable experience.

I’m thrilled to share that it’s only been a month since the premiere date was announced for “Willy’s Candy Spectacular: A Musical Parody,” and yet, the complete cast has already been assembled! I can hardly contain my excitement, as producer Richard Kraft of Kraft-Engel Productions and Director Andy Fickman (of “Heathers: The Musical”) have unveiled a star-studded and cameo-filled roster for this highly anticipated Edinburgh Fringe Festival staged reading. Two actors from the 1971 “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” film will grace us with their presence, each taking turns to narrate the play for approximately a week.

According to the producers’ announcement, Julie Dawn Cole (Veruca Salt) came out of retirement to narrate from August 9th to 18th. Paris Themmen (Mike Teevee) will take over from August 19th to 26th. Additionally, Kirsty Paterson, who was part of the original Glasgow Chocolate Factory disaster cast and is fondly remembered as Sad Oompa Loompa online, will be joining them.

I’m truly impressed by the diverse and talented cast that has come together for this production. With Shelley Regner’s bubbly energy from the Pitch Perfect series, Eric Petersen’s versatility from his work in School of Rock The Musical and Shrek: The Musical, Nicole Greenwood’s experience in law enforcement on In Plain Sight, Wilkie Ferguson’s electrifying performances in Motown: The Musical, Cassandra Parker’s captivating presence in Cabaret, Monica Evans’ soulful voice as a singer-songwriter, and Chris Villain’s unique talents from Freakshow – this ensemble is nothing short of extraordinary. Their rich life experiences and artistic backgrounds will undoubtedly bring depth and authenticity to the stage. I can’t wait to see what they create together!

As an assistant gamer, I’m excitedly hinting that Kraft could have some unexpected special guests in store for us. Save the dates from August 9th to 26th for the performances at Edinburgh Pleasance Dome. Secure your tickets now if you’re making a trip to Scotland!

Richard Kraft and Andy Fickman are set to pen the script for an upcoming musical. Sharing a deep affection for musicals, unconventional show business allusions, and the legendary Gene Wilder, this marks their initial project together.

“Announce it and they will come, I quipped, referring to my musical idea that suddenly materialized in March. Before I even had a show, I drafted a press release. Top-notch songwriters soon joined the team, penning sixteen songs for our score. Next, we secured the ideal director, Andy Fickman. Now, our dream cast has gathered to debut this wild concept at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. I never could have envisioned such a lovely and swift realization of my dreams. It’s absolutely delightful.”

Andy Fickman expresses his excitement by saying, “It’s as if I’m Willy Wonka himself, welcoming this extraordinary cast to our factory gates, each one holding a coveted Golden Ticket. Working on this delightful musical with them is already a pleasure beyond words. But adding the original Veruca Salt and Mike Teevee to the roster? My mind is overflowing with sweet surprises!”

I’m thrilled to share that the musical parody “Willy’s Candy Spectacular” boasts an impressive roster of talented songwriters. Riki Lindhome, Daniel Mertzlufft, Doug Rockwell, and Tova Litvin, Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner, Megan Cavallari, Kate Miccuci, and Jennifer Lucy Cook & Richard Kraft have all contributed their musical prowess to this production!
