WWE Announces Two Arena-Based NXT Premium Live Events For the Fall

As a long-time fan of WWE NXT, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement and nostalgia as I read about the brand’s return to arena-based premium live events (PLEs). I remember the thrill of attending my first NXT Takeover event back in 2015, feeling like a part of something special as we watched history being made at Full Sail University. The energy and passion from both the live audience and those of us watching at home was electric.

The WWE NXT developmental brand is once again traveling for its monthly specials. Originally debuted on the WWE Network in 2014 with the special event “NXT Arrival,” the serialized “NXT Takeover” shows began, all taking place at Full Sail University for television tapings. However, starting from 2015’s “NXT Takeover: Brooklyn,” NXT started taking its major events on the road. Approximately four to five times a year, an “NXT Takeover” event would take place on the Saturday preceding a significant WWE pay-per-view. These touring “NXT Takeovers” continued until they were halted in 2020.

After August 2021’s NXT Takeover 36, the “NXT Takeovers” as we knew them came to an end. NXT underwent a rebranding, transforming into “NXT 2.0,” which continued to host occasional special events but without the “Takeover” label. All these events took place at the WWE Performance Center with a small live audience present. The first NXT event of the “2.0” era to move beyond the WWE PC was NXT Stand & Deliver 2022. By 2023, NXT’s premium live events resumed their travels and started airing from full-sized arenas once more.

The white and gold brand continues to run the big houses.

According to WWE’s recent announcement, two additional premium live events have been included in the schedule for WWE NXT. The first one, named “NXT No Mercy,” is set for September 1st at Denver, Colorado’s Ball Arena. Notably, WWE will also organize “WWE Monday Night Raw” at the same venue on September 2nd.

In about nine weeks, NXT Halloween Havoc is planned for October 27th at the GIANT Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Similar to NXT No Mercy, an episode of WWE Monday Night Raw will be broadcasted from this venue on Monday, October 28th. Tickets for these two NXT events will be available for purchase starting July 26th.

Shawn Michels, WWE’s Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative, expressed his excitement: “We can’t wait to bring NXT back on tour and treat the fantastic fans of Denver and Hershey to an evening filled with thrilling action. For those tuning in from home, get ready for a night to remember!”

NXT’s “No Mercy” and “Halloween Havoc” are the only scheduled premium events left for NXT in 2024. NXT is holding “The Great American Bash” on August 6th as a special episode of their TV show, not as a separate WWE Network event. Towards the end of the year, NXT will likely have another premium live event, with “Deadline” being a traditional December event in recent times.
