As a dedicated fan of Stranger Things since its inception, I’ve eagerly anticipated each new season with bated breath. The Duffer Brothers have delivered a captivating and intricately woven narrative that has kept me hooked for hours on end. However, recent news about the upcoming final season leaves me feeling somewhat apprehensive.
It’s nearly time to get your Dungeons and Dragons league back together.
The makers of “Stranger Things” have shared news and a sneak peek of the show’s last season. Interestingly, production on the fifth installment, which doesn’t have a confirmed premiere date yet, is currently at the midpoint of filming.
“Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer, the show’s creators, are thrilled to announce in a recent YouTube video shared on July 15th, ‘This is going to be exciting! There’s so much happening. Welcome to Stranger Things season five.’ “
The video features not only glimpses of the new set being constructed for the upcoming season of “Stranger Things,” but also brief messages from some of the show’s stars. Among them are Joe Keery and Maya Hawke, who portray Steve Harrington and Robin Buckley. They both appear in costume and announce, “Today marks the beginning of filming for ‘Stranger Things’ season five.”
After getting married to Jake Bongiovi in May, Millie Bobby Brown looked back on her time as the main character, Eleven, in the show.
Millie shares, “I began at the age of ten. Now, as I turn twenty, it feels quite strange to me.”
The following actors, including Sadie Sink, Caleb McLaughlin, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, and Gaten Matarazzo – collectively known as the “kids” in the show – shared their thoughts on the upcoming season. They assured fans that it would be more expansive than previous seasons while maintaining the elements that have made it beloved.
In his own words, Finn (portraying Mike Wheeler) expressed his eagerness to act alongside Gaten, Caleb, Noah, and Millie again: “I’m looking forward to sharing scenes with the original quartet.”
Ever since I first laid eyes on Gaten Matarazzo, who brilliantly brings Dustin Henderson to life, I’ve been hooked on this show. It all started back in 2016 when Stranger Things premiered, and as an obsessed fan, I can’t help but ponder why I’ve remained so captivated by it all these years.
“He expressed, ‘This is where I belong,’ at the age of 21. Just recall the reasons behind your actions and enjoy the process.”
As a devoted fan, I’m excited to share that the upcoming season of “Stranger Things” will bring back all our beloved characters from before. Plus, we have new additions to the crew in the form of Nell Fisher, Jake Connelly, and Alex Breaux. Although many specifics about their roles remain hidden, the producers have given us a tiny sneak peek. They’ve announced that the first episode is called “The Crawl.”
And Maya also recently gave insight into just how long the series’ final season will be running.
“Maya shared on Penn Badgley’s Podcrushed podcast last month that we’re producing, in essence, eight lengthy episodes instead of the usual movies.”

Max’s situation remains uncertain, but according to Matt and Ross Duffer in an interview with the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Dr. Brenner, portrayed by Matthew Modine, has definitely met his end. They put it bluntly: “He’s gone for good.”
Just like Eddie (Joseph Quinn), he gave his life to shield the other children from the Demobats’ attack. In an interview with TopMob News, Joseph expressed his eagerness to make a comeback, sharing, “I’d be open to it. We’ll have to wait and see.”
I can’t get enough of Max, that amazingly talented actress Sadie Sink. The brothers aren’t ready to let go of her just yet, despite the dire predictions. They explained to me, with a hint of hope in their voices, “She might be brain dead, but she’s still alive. Her eyes may be closed, and every bone in her body could be shattered, but there’s a spark within her that refuses to fade away.”
In an interview with Deadline, I expressed my uncertainty about Max’s future, as her current condition leaves much to be desired. Though technically alive, it’s unknown if she’ll ever emerge from her coma. Eleven, portrayed by Millie Bobby Brown, hasn’t been able to locate Max in the void. Consequently, we’re left guessing where she might be and what state she may be in.
Natalia Dyer, who plays Nancy, expresses her uncertainty over whom her character should be with. She believes Nancy and Jonathan (Charlie Heaton) could work well together, but Steve (Joe Keery) has matured significantly. A part of her feels that Nancy shouldn’t be with either one. “It’s quite a dilemma,” she shared with Variety. “I’m not sure. It seems like Nancy has been in a relationship for some time, so maybe she needs some personal growth.”
Based on my personal experiences and observations, I strongly believe that no matter what transpires, it is my heartfelt hope that she conducts herself with honesty and integrity. However, I must confess that I was taken aback by how the situation involving Jonathan unfolded seemingly behind Steve’s back. Frankly, I find it hard to fathom her actions. I mean, I truly cannot believe she would do such a thing.
In the final episode of the season, it was revealed that Will (Noah Schnapp) and Vecna are still connected, having been linked in season two. When queried by TopMob News about potential interactions between the two characters in season five, Jamie Campbell Bower replied, “Given their past, it would be delightful to return and explore that relationship further.”
Initially, Joyce, Will, Jonathan, and Eleven aimed to begin a new life in California. However, it appears that the Byers family, along with Hopper and Eleven, have grown homesick for Hawkins and their familiar circle of friends. Consequently, they plan to abandon their California residence and relocate back to Indiana in season five.
“Most of it will take place in Hawkins, with significant portions in the Upside Down as well,” Matt Duffer shared with Collider regarding their plans for season 5. “This story brings everyone home. Everyone returns to Hawkins.”
The Duffer Brothers have mapped out most of season five as the last part, but it’s uncertain when production will start.
As I reflected on the lengthy production process of the last two seasons, taking up a total of two years, I shared with Deadline my uncertainty about how long it might take for us to bring you Season 5 of “Stranger Things”. The Duffers are well aware of the excitement building among fans, but they’re not in a rush. They’re committed to creating an exceptional final chapter that will do justice to the story and characters we all love.
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve noticed that the Duffer Brothers are taking their time with the production of the final season of Stranger Things. Instead of cramming in as many scenes as possible, they seem to be focusing on quality over quantity. They’ve mentioned that each episode will be slightly shorter than before, but don’t be alarmed – the finale is still expected to be a lengthy and epic conclusion to the series, much like a feature-length film.
In an interview on the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast, Matt Duffer explained why we shouldn’t anticipate the fifth season of the show to be as lengthy as previous ones: “During this particular season, it takes about two hours for our kids to become fully engrossed in a supernatural enigma. We get to know them and observe their lives before they’re swept up into the mystery. However, none of that will be present in season 5.”
January 8th saw Netflix announce the commencement of production for the fifth and concluding season of “Stranger Things,” as signified by their heartwarming snapshot featuring the Hawkins gang.
“We’ve got exciting news! ‘Stranger Things 5’ production has formally kicked off, so get ready for another thrilling season!”
In an interview with TopMob News, Shawn Levy, executive producer of Stranger Things, shared that season five will provide answers to all lingering queries, ensuring fans’ satisfaction.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that on November 6th, affectionately referred to as “Stranger Things” Day, Netflix unveiled an exciting revelation. The premiere episode of the last season will be named “Chapter One: The Crawl,” and I can hardly wait to witness what unfolds!
Based on recent revelations from Noah Schnapp in an interview with Forbes, it seems that Will Byers may play a pivotal role in bringing Stranger Things to a conclusion on Netflix. According to Schnapp, the creators have effectively developed and resolved his character’s storyline this season, and the way they choose to end the show is reportedly fitting, given that the series began with Will at its core.
Maya Hawke recently revealed the upcoming series is “basically eight movies.”
As she explained on Penn Badgley’s Podcrushed in June 2024, “The episodes are very long.”
