As a devoted fan of CD Projekt RED and their groundbreaking works, I am beyond thrilled to hear about the progress they are making on not one, but several new projects! The anticipation is particularly high for “Project Polaris,” the next installment in The Witcher series. With over 400 developers working on it, this new saga is set to enter production this year and is already the most advanced of all their ongoing projects.
As a dedicated gamer, I’m excited to share that CD Projekt RED is shifting some resources away from Cyberpunk 2077 and pouring more effort into their upcoming projects. One of these projects is none other than The Witcher: Project Polaris, which kicks off a new trilogy in the beloved series. With over 400 talented developers on board, I can’t wait to see what they create!
Production for “Project Orion,” Cyberpunk 2077’s sequel, will commence this year. However, Paweł Sasko, the associate game director of the project, shared with Flow Games during a podcast interview that it is the most advanced among CD Projekt RED’s current projects. He explained that most other projects are still in their early stages, but “Polaris” stands out as an exception.
As a long-time fan of The Witcher series, I’m thrilled to share that production on the new saga is set to begin this year. Having followed the developments in the gaming industry for decades, I can attest to the fact that this project represents the most advanced and innovative undertaking in the history of CD Projekt Red. Sasko’s recent comments at the company’s shareholder meeting only served to reinforce this notion as he presented graphs illustrating the vast majority of their developers are dedicated to bringing Polaris to life. The anticipation is palpable within the gaming community, and I can hardly wait to see what this talented team has in store for us next.
In addition to Orion and Polaris, there are other projects under development. The Molasses Flood is working on Project Sirius, while Fool’s Theory is tackling The Witcher Remake. Furthermore, an original IP named Project Hadar is also being created.
As an avid fan, I can tell you that although Project Polaris, the upcoming sequel to The Witcher 3, is making great strides, we don’t have a definitive release date yet. CD Projekt RED’s co-CEO Michał Nowakowski shared that the team is determined to “take risks and explore uncharted territory” with this new project. In simpler terms, fans shouldn’t anticipate a simple upgrade of The Witcher 3. For now, let’s remain patient and keep an eye out for future announcements.
