Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Composer Calls it "Such an Exciting Movie" After First Viewing

As a huge fan of Sonic the Hedgehog and the brilliant composer behind the music for the first two films, I can only imagine the excitement Tom “JunkieXL” Holkenborg must be feeling right now! With his latest interview with Collider, he not only confirmed his return to compose the score for Sonic the Hedgehog 3, but also shared that he’s already had the privilege of watching the movie.

Tom “JunkieXL” Holkenborg, who composed the music for the first two Sonic the Hedgehog films, has already watched the upcoming third installment. Though the theatrical release of Sonic 3 is still a few months off, Holkenborg was fortunate enough to catch an early screening. He shared this news in an interview with Collider, but remained tight-lipped about the movie’s plot details. However, he did express great enthusiasm for the finished product.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with some incredibly talented individuals throughout my career in the film industry. One such person is Jeff Fowler, who I had the joy of meeting for the very first time yesterday. Although we’ve known each other for a long time now, our history goes way back to our collaborations on “Deadpool” and “Terminator: Dark Fate.”

I’m thrilled to share that my sons are avid fans of the first two Sonic movies. So, I can’t wait for them to experience the latest installment by the end of the year. Whether or not the third film resonates with audiences and Sega enthusiasts remains to be seen, but Holkenborg’s enthusiasm is certainly a promising sign.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 currently has a release date of December 20th. Paramount has offered few details about the movie thus far, but the movie will apparently adapt elements from the video game Sonic Adventure 2. Most notably, the story will center around Shadow the Hedgehog, who will be voiced in the movie by Keanu Reeves. Shadow’s role in the movie was set up at the end of Sonic the Hedgehog 2, with the character making a brief cameo appearance. Unfortunately, the character was not voiced in that film, so fans have yet to hear Reeves’ take on Shadow just yet.

As San Diego Comic-Con is approaching rapidly, there’s a good chance we might receive new details about “Sonic the Hedgehog 3” – possibly even the debut trailer – in the near future. However, it’s important to note that no official announcements have been made yet.
