As a long-time Marvel Comics fan and avid collector of the Ultimate line, I am beyond excited about the latest developments in the ongoing series! The arrival of new characters and plot twists keeps each issue fresh and engaging.
In the evolving Ultimate Universe of Marvel Comics, a new hero is poised to emerge. As we delve deeper into this reimagined universe, readers encounter fresh takes on beloved characters and adversaries. For instance, Spider-Man now boasts a wife and children, while Black Panther is married to Okoye, and Reed Richards dons the Doom persona. The forefront quartet of titles are “Ultimate Spider-Man” by Jonathan Hickman and Marco Checchetto, “Ultimate Black Panther” by Bryan Hill and Stefano Caselli, “Ultimate X-Men” by Peach Momoko, and “Ultimates” by Deniz Camp and Juan Frigeri. Later this autumn, one of these series will present the arrival of Ultimate Hawkeye.
In October 2024, Marvel announced its solicitations for the Ultimate series, featuring issues such as Ultimate Black Panther #9, Ultimates #5, Ultimate Spider-Man #10, and Ultimate X-Men #8. Among these, Ultimates #5 introduces a new Hawkeye character. Although the identity of this Hawkeye remains a mystery – be it Clint Barton, Kate Bishop, or someone else entirely – we do have a sneak peek at their costume from cover art by Dike Ruan and Inhyuk Lee. The Hawkeye figure dons a bodysuit with the distinctive color scheme, wielding a bow and arrow. Their long hair is tied up in a ponytail adorned with two feathers.
Marvel teases Ultimate Hawkeye’s debut
In the invitation for Ultimates #5, a civilians takes up Hawkeye’s abandoned bow and arrows, determined not to let the Ultimates retrieve stolen Stark Technology. Captain America attempts to mediate, resulting in an exhilarating clash of archery versus shield tactics. Concurrently, the Ultimate Hellfire Club is hatching a nefarious plan.
Three new heroes have joined The Ultimates’ team in the initial issues. The first comic introduces Wasp and Ant-Man (Giant-Man), while the second issue focuses on saving America Chavez in a daring mission.
In the Ultimate Universe, some noteworthy events transpired. For instance, J. Jonah Jameson formed an unlikely alliance with Ben Parker. Hints were dropped regarding the Ultimate Universe’s Sorcerer Supreme. Moreover, a revelation concerning the origins of its mutants surfaced.
