As a long-time Marvel fan and avid follower of Deadpool‘s adventures, I am beyond excited for the latest installment of everyone’s favorite Merc with a Mouth, Deadpool & Wolverine. The recent teaser has left me in awe, not just because of the stunning visuals, but also due to the unexpected appearance of Cowboy Deadpool.
In a recent sneak peek for “Deadpool & Wolverine,” Marvel Studios introduced an unexplored Deadpool version, which they’ve labeled as “Everyone” on social media. This clip focuses on gathering forces to safeguard the multiverse. Although some fans are excited about more Lady Deadpool, Cowboy Deadpool makes his debut in any promotional content from this movie for the first time. Additionally, various discussions have centered around diverse Wolverine manifestations. However, it seems that both Deadpool (Wade Wilson) and Wolverine will receive considerable attention in various forms throughout this film. The Wild West Deadpool is just one of the many examples, with a small dog joining their team as well.
Fans of comics are familiar with the cowboy version of Deadpool from the Deadpool Corps storyline in the comic series. In an alternate universe identified as Earth-1108, this Deadpool variant is called The Deadpool Kid. He interacts with the regular Deadpool (Earth-616) and Headpool from Earth-2149 in the comics. Unlike the Deadpool portrayed in films, this version leans more towards being an antihero. It’s possible that his character traits may influence “Deadpool & Wolverine.” We’ll find out soon enough. Additionally, there are rumors that Kid Deadpool might be part of the upcoming MCU movie, and if Reynolds can resist making a joke about their similar names, it would be quite an achievement.
Despite fans’ worries over exposing too much in the trailers for Deadpool & Wolverine, Marvel Studios continues to fuel the hype with their promotional efforts. In this new teaser, they’ve incorporated clips from the recent fan screening events. It appears that not much is given away. However, if you’re among those who can’t stand spoilers, it would be prudent to prepare yourselves – perhaps by tuning out or installing filters now.
Deadpool & Wolverine Is Hiding More Secrets
Regarding the upcoming collaboration between Deadpool and Wolverine in the MCU, Marvel Studios has been unusually secretive leading up to its release. Previously, during filming, there were numerous leaks about cameos and appearances due to an overabundance of paparazzi. However, according to Kevin Feige’s interview with Variety, these spoilers didn’t significantly hinder the production process. In fact, shooting outside turned out to be a significant advantage overall.
“For us, that was crucial not to make it just a set with green screens for all the locations. Instead, we aimed to film in the actual environment, which brings challenges. We worked in many protected sites and distant areas, mostly free from intrusion – except for drones. It was an unprecedented situation for me as I dealt with paparazzi drones hovering over the set.”
As a gamer, I’ve noticed that things can appear enticing in behind-the-scenes glimpses, but more often than not, they don’t live up to expectations. People have become wise to this fact over the years, recognizing that what we see isn’t always an accurate representation of the final product. However, there are exceptions to this rule – take Wolverine in his iconic yellow outfit for instance. From any perspective, be it a drone view or peeking through trees, he looks cool and unbeatable.
