Kagurabachi Creator Has Not Forgotten About Chihiro's Mom

As a longtime fan of Weekly Shonen Jump manga and someone who’s been following the hype surrounding Kagurabachi since its initial announcement, I can’t help but feel exhilarated by the latest news about Chihiro’s mother being introduced in future volumes.

The manga “Kagurabachi” by its creator has been gaining popularity rapidly in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, with impressive sales numbers even before publishing the first chapter. Despite not yet reaching the 50-chapter milestone, each new volume surpasses fan expectations in terms of sales. The story follows Chihiro Rokuhira as he searches for the lost Enchanted Blades, while readers also get a glimpse into his thought process during battles. In simpler terms, “Kagurabachi” has been selling exceptionally well in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, and its creator plans to expand Chihiro’s family background in future chapters.

Chihiro began his journey of vengeance right after his father was murdered and the Enchanted Blades were taken from them. His mother has not appeared in the series so far, but rest assured, we will get to know her eventually. According to creator Takeru Hokazono at Japan Expo (as mentioned by @brkagurabachi on X), Chihiro’s mother will be featured in a future volume and will play an essential role in the storyline.

How to Read Kagurabachi

If Hokazono hasn’t revealed much about Chihiro’s mother’s role or his own backstory in “Kagurabachi,” it’s an intriguing mystery that readers can anticipate should the series continue. Given its promising progression in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine and Shueisha’s ongoing support, it seems unlikely to be canceled at this stage. However, showing your enthusiasm for the story by reading and sharing your thoughts could encourage Hokazono to fully develop his ideas as intended.

To read the latest installments of Takeru Hokazono’s “Kagurabachi” manga as they come out, consider using Viz Media’s digital Shonen Jump library or Shueisha’s MangaPlus platform for free access (with a paid subscription for the full archive). Releases occur on a weekly basis. The English version of the first comic book will be available in the US this Fall.

I’ve been looking forward to this new manga series, Kagurabachi, taking over Weekly Shonen Jump magazine week after week. Here’s what you can anticipate: I, Chihiro, live my days under the guidance of my renowned swordsmith father. Our bond is unique – goofy dad and serious son. We believed those days would last a lifetime. But suddenly, our world was shattered by an unforeseen tragedy. A day marked by bloodshed. My father and I are now driven only by the thirst for revenge. Brace yourselves for some epic sword battle action!
