Splatoon 3 Reveals August Splatfest Theme and Details

As a dedicated Splatoon 3 player with years of squid-like battle under my belt, I’ve experienced the thrill and excitement of each Splatfest that comes our way. Last weekend’s competition was no exception, with the enticing question of what we’d choose to spend a day at: a Palace, a Theme Park, or a Beach. Splatoon 2 was one of the first major releases on Nintendo Switch, arriving on the system just three months after launch. With a new Nintendo system likely releasing next year, it’s a safe bet that Splatoon 4 won’t be far behind. The franchise has become an important one for Nintendo, and 2025 will mark the 10th anniversary of the series. A new Splatoon would be a smart way to get people to upgrade from the current console, especially in Japan where the series has found massive popularity.

In Splatoon games, it’s now customary for the last Splatfest to determine the setting for the following installment in the series. However, it’s uncertain if this custom will carry on for future games. Nonetheless, there are still exciting elements in Splatoon 3 to explore before its official release.
