As a huge fan of television and movies, I can’t help but feel elated and inspired by the recent Emmy nominations that recognized some remarkable performances and projects. I’m in awe of Sheryl Lee Ralph’s emotional response to her second Emmy nod for “Abbott Elementary.” Her passion and dedication to her craft are truly deserving of this recognition.

He’s just a 2024 Emmy nominee.

In case you missed it: Ryan Gosling has been nominated for an Emmy in the Guest Actor Comedy Series category, recognition earned through his hosting stint on “Saturday Night Live”. (For a full list of 2024 Emmy nominations, please visit this link.)

It’s shocking that although he has an impressive resume, this is actually his first nomination for the TV awards celebrating excellence in the industry. Similarly, you might be surprised to learn that another prominent star has never received a Golden Statue either.

Despite being nominated a total of nine times for Emmy Awards, specifically for her role in “Saturday Night Live” and her remarkable performances on the sketch comedy show, Kristen Wiig hasn’t managed to win one as of the year 2024.

Additionally, there are other renowned TV stars who have previously shined on your screens and received their initial nominations this year. Notably, Paul Rudd was recognized for his supporting performance in “Only Murders in the Building,” Dakota Fanning for her role in “Ripley” alongside Andrew Scott (who gained a second nod for his limited series contribution), as well as Jonathan Bailey from “Bridgerton,” who received a nomination for “Fellow Travelers.”

Overall, there were a few clear leaders amongst the nominees.

At this year’s awards ceremony, the first season of “Shogun” led the pack with an impressive 25 nominations. Not far behind was the second season of “The Bear,” which received 23 nominations, breaking the record for most nominees in a single year for a comedy series. The third season of “Only Murders In The Building” also made a strong showing with 21 nominations.

As a devoted fan, I’ve been closely following the Emmy Award nominations this year, and I’m thrilled to see some familiar faces among the list. Among those talented individuals are Jeremy Allen White, Hiroyuki Sanada, Ayo Edebiri, Martin Short, Steve Martin, and Selena Gomez. For the first time, The Wizards of Waverly Place alum, Selena Gomez, has been recognized with an Emmy nomination for her acting skills.

“Amazing,” Sofia expressed in a statement. “Griselda was my initial dramatic character, and it required us 15 long years to breathe life into her. I’m deeply thankful for everyone involved in this project. Andres Baiz, Alberto Guerra, Eric Newman, my partner and producer Luis Balaguer, Ted Sarandos, Bela Bajaria, and their Netflix team – I couldn’t have accomplished this without your support. Gratitude also extends to our exceptional cast and crew.”

And the America’s Got Talent judge also nodded to her Emmy-winning roots.

As a die-hard fan, I could hardly believe my luck when when I found myself contributing to the magical world of “Griselda” following the success of “Modern Family.” It’s an indescribable privilege to be mentioned in the same breath as Jodie, Brie, Juno, and Naomi – women who have graced our screens with unforgettable performances this year. I am deeply grateful to the Television Academy for bestowing this remarkable honor upon me.
