DC's Absolute Batman Is a "Primal" Beast: "This Is Not the Batman You Know"

As a long-time gamer and comic book fan, I’m thrilled to hear about DC Comics’ bold new publishing initiative, DC All In, which promises to redefine the Absolute Universe and introduce us to a more badass version of our beloved heroes, starting with Batman. The teaser images alone have piqued my interest, especially the manga-inspired Dark Knight design by Nick Dragotta that Williamson raves about.

DC Comics is heavily investing in the “Absolute Batman” series. On Wednesday, DC Comics unveiled their new publishing initiative, DC All In, which will introduce the Absolute Universe and fresh takes on DC’s iconic trio: Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. Starting in October with a 64-page one-shot titled “DC All In Special” #1, co-written by Scott Snyder (Batman) and Joshua Williamson (Superman), and illustrated by Daniel Sampere (Dark Crisis) and Wes Craig (Deadly Class), the new comic line will reimagine these heroes within the prime DCU.

In the Absolute Universe, where I’m a devoted fan, the gritty and enigmatic Batman takes on an even greater presence. This version of the Dark Knight is not just formidable in any universe, but exceptionally “more badass,” as Snyder puts it. The raw and unpredictable energy that defines this untamed realm is none other than Darkseid’s chaotic and dangerous force.

Snyder revealed that The Absolute Universe exists in a single interconnected space and is an integral part of an intriguing narrative we’ll be unraveling over the next few years with DC All In. This initiative encompasses both the DCU and DCAU, branching out from “Absolute Power,” the blockbuster Dawn of DC event by Mark Waid and Dan Mora. The conclusion of “Absolute Power” sets the stage for some monumental developments within the DCU, which we’ll delve into starting with All In #1 in October.

As an avid fan, I’m thrilled about DC Comics’ new initiative called “All In.” This project invites both established and fresh creative talents to share their best stories with us. The unique aspect is that we’ll all start from the same beginning point. DC aims to provide the most welcoming and accessible entry point for readers in a long time.

As a gamer, I can’t reveal how the Absolute Universe will be brought into existence until October’s final episode of “Absolute Power” and the special issue named “All In.” But get ready for an epic showdown between Darkseid and Superman’s Justice League! This battle will drastically alter the DC multiverse in a thrilling, groundbreaking way that leaves us eagerly anticipating the new developments. And during this clash, a perilous, untamed planet emerges – a fresh start for the DC universe.
