Deadpool 3 Producer Says Hugh Jackman Wearing Wolverine Suit Had "Grown Men Sobbing on Set"

As a long-time gamer and Marvel fan, I can’t contain my excitement for the upcoming “Deadpool & Wolverine” movie. The announcement that Hugh Jackman will don the classic yellow and blue Wolverine suit again is a dream come true for many of us who grew up watching the X-Men movies.

After more than twenty years and a studio purchase, Hugh Jackman will don the iconic yellow and blue Wolverine suit in “Deadpool & Wolverine.” In this Marvel Studios production, the mercenary Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and the clawed mutant Logan (Jackman) will reunite for the first time since “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” in 2009. The filmmakers have made it a point to ensure Jackman wears the comic-true “yellow spandex,” as famously criticized by Cyclops (James Marsden) in the 2000 “X-Men.”

As a gamer, I can tell you that the camera test before starting a production of an epic game was something truly remarkable. Seeing two major characters in their costumes together for the first time was a surreal experience that left me speechless. But when Hugh, one of the main characters, appeared in his yellow and blue attire, it brought tears to the eyes of grown men on set. That moment confirmed we were part of something truly unique and special.

As a devoted fan, I’d like to share how Jacobson, an esteemed executive in Marvel Studios with notable works on “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” and the streaming series “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law,” described Hugh Jackman’s iconic yellow-suited character as more than just a wish-granting element.

In her own words, she expressed, “I never thought I’d be a part of such an extraordinary project as Deadpool & Wolverine in my wildest dreams. Just being involved and working alongside Reynolds and Jackman is a tremendous privilege for me on a personal level. It’s the most fulfilling experience of my career so far. I half-jokingly wonder if I should retire since I don’t think I’ll find anything that can top this.”

As a longtime fan of the X-Men franchise and having followed Hugh Jackman’s iconic portrayal of Wolverine throughout nine films, I can’t help but be in awe of how his influence shaped the development of Deadpool 3. With his retirement from the role after Logan in 2017, it seemed like the end of an era for X-Men fans. But little did we know that Jackman was far from done with the superhero world.

Feige, Reynolds, Levy, and Shuler Donner (producer of the X-Men franchise) are behind the production of Deadpool and Wolverine. Jacobson executively produces along with Louis D’Esposito from Marvel Studios, Mary McLaglen (Free Guy), Josh McLaglen (The Adam Project), George Dewey (IF), Simon Kinberg (Logan), Jonathon Komack Martin (Deadpool 2), and Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (co-writers of the Deadpool films). The MCU film will exclusively open in cinemas on July 26th.
