AEW’s Mercedes Mone Retains TBS Title at Dynamite 250, Attacked by Masked Britt Baker

As a huge fan of AEW and professional wrestling in general, I was absolutely thrilled to witness Mercedes Mone‘s open challenge on Dynamite and the subsequent encounter with Nyla Rose. The tension between these two powerhouses of the promotion has been building for weeks, and it finally came to a head in an intense and action-packed match.

Mercedes Mone, the TBS Champion in AEW, issued an open challenge that excluded Britt Baker. One of AEW’s original stars accepted the invitation, leading to a confrontation with Nyla Rose. The powerhouse, Rose, displayed her strength at the match’s start. Mone appeared worried at various moments and came close to losing after attempting to provoke Baker using her signature move. In the end, Mone managed to make Rose submit, but the tension didn’t subside as a masked Britt Baker emerged from the crowd, pursuing Mone around the ring until security intervened. It seems that a title clash between these two prominent figures in AEW is imminent.

Making a Statement

I’ve spent my entire life training for moments like these. Every muscle in my body has been honed and sculpted to perfection, every move practiced until it becomes second nature. But today, as I faced off against Mone in the ring, I knew this would be no easy match.

In simpler terms, Mone managed to evict Rose from a pinning position and persisted in attacking the champion. Although Rose held an upper hand due to her strength advantage, Mone prevented her from regaining composure by constantly assaulting her. Mone targeted various body parts of Rose with relentless strikes in the corners, eventually securing a hold at the ring’s center.

During their wrestling match, Mone applied a sleeper hold to Rose, but things took a turn as Rose countered and executed a powerful suplex instead. The impact left Mone reeling with pain in her lower back. Next, Rose followed up with a massive clothesline. With determination, Rose attempted a cannonball maneuver, but Mone managed to kick out before the three count. In retaliation, Mone unleashed a Meteroa attack, resulting in only a near fall. The battle continued as Rose slammed Mone into the turnbuckle. However, Mone retaliated by performing an Avalanche Bulldog from the top rope.

Mone took out a glove with “CEO” written on it, imitating Britt Baker’s well-known gesture. She attempted to execute Baker’s finishing move, but unfortunately, it failed for Mone. Rose refused to submit, instead biting fiercely on Mone’s hand and making her scream in agony until she let go. Unperturbed, Mone retaliated with her Statement Maker maneuver following the recovery of her hand, resulting in Rose’s submission.

DMD vs CEO

After triumphantly exiting the ring in celebration, Mone was surprised when she encountered a spectator holding a sign that read “DMD superior to CEO.” Irked, Mone snatched the sign and ripped it in two, revealing Baker hiding behind it. Before Mone could react, Baker unmasked herself and shoved Mone to the ground. Frightened, Mone quickly escaped while Baker pursued her around the ring. Eventually, security intervened and separated the two wrestlers.

As a gamer, I can’t predict with certainty when these two rivals will go head-to-head for the first time, but based on current information, it seems likely that their much-anticipated match will take place at the upcoming All In event. However, there’s always a chance they might square off before then. But for me, as a fan, the real excitement lies in witnessing this epic showdown at All In, which holds significant importance for Baker, being an integral part of its history. Moreover, it will be an unforgettable moment for Moné, who has only cheered from the sidelines during previous All In events, and is now set to make her grand entrance and debut at this year’s event.
