As a seasoned gamer with over a decade of experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a rush of excitement upon hearing about the announcement of Splitgate 2. The original game, with its unique blend of Halo and Portal gameplay, captured my attention last year and kept me hooked for hours on end. The fact that 1047 Games is now working on a full-fledged sequel is music to my ears.
In 2021, the indie multiplayer shooter game “Splitgate” by 1047 Studios unexpectedly gained massive popularity due to its combination of “Halo” and “Portal” elements and visuals. Now, the studio has officially announced that a sequel is in development. Previous reports confirmed work on the follow-up as early as 2022 and even showed sneak peeks, but this week, 1047 Games made it official with the release of the cinematic reveal trailer for “Splitgate 2.” Watch the video below to learn more.
Using Unreal Engine 5 as its foundation, the upcoming multiplayer game “Splitgate 2” is being promoted as an enhanced version of its indie precursor. In this 4vs4 shooter, players are invited to hone their shooting and portal skills, personalize their weapons, and join one of several factions, each offering exclusive abilities.
The anticipated sequel to Splitgate, named Splitgate 2, is aiming for a 2025 debut, however, no exact launch date has been set yet. Once launched, players can enjoy the game on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and personal computers.
