Netflix and Peacock are teaming up to offer a streaming bundle for Verizon customers ahead of the Olympics. Initially, this deal will only be accessible to those who buy a yearly Peacock Premium subscription, priced at $80. As part of this package, they will also receive a free Netflix Premium membership. To avail of this offer, Verizon customers need to visit the +play hub and make the purchase. This deal is effective now and aims to boost viewership for NBC’s Olympics coverage and potentially other live programming in the coming weeks.
Previously, Brian Roberts, the CEO of Comcast, announced excitedly about their upcoming bundle offers: “For the past 60 years, we’ve successfully bundled video in an engaging way. This new version will continue that trend and is sure to be quite attractive.”
In their early discussions, the Comcast executive reveals that the new bundles will offer “significant price reductions compared to current options.” This assertion holds true as Netflix Premium costs approximately $229 annually without additional fees – a considerable savings when considering this top-tier package from Netflix. Consequently, anticipate more businesses joining the streaming revolution with “StreamSaver” on the horizon, bringing Apple TV+ into the competition alongside Netflix and Peacock.
Is Bundling The Future?
At the rivalry, Warner Bros. and Disney have been intensely preparing their own bundle deals. Disney has merged Hulu with Disney+, making it a single platform hosting all Disney content. Max, from Warner Bros. Discovery, now serves as a central hub for all Warner content, including some Max originals being rebranded as HBO Originals due to their high quality. Both companies aim to launch their bundles swiftly after bringing everything together.
