As a long-time gamer and wrestling fan, I’ve seen my fair share of title matches and upsets. But nothing quite compares to the TNA World Championship scene, where every contender truly has a chance at glory.

At TNA’s Hard to Kill event this past January, newcomer Nic Nemeth made his intentions clear: he wanted a crack at TNA’s World Championship held by Moose. After challenging Moose unsuccessfully during Rebellion in a 17-minute long bout, Nemeth, formerly known as Dolph Ziggler in WWE, has earned another opportunity. He defeated Rich Swann in the qualifying match for Slammiversary, putting him back into title contention. However, this time around, Nemeth faces additional challenges as he prepares for his rematch against Moose.

In the main event of TNA Slammiversary, Moose, the current TNA World Champion, faces off against The Wanted Man and four other contenders in a fierce battle.

I’m thrilled to chat with ComicBook before TNA Slammiversary! This premium live event is shaping up to be something truly special, and I can’t help but express my excitement over the main event’s impressive roster of competitors. Each athlete brings their unique skills and determination to the table, making it a genuine toss-up as to who will leave with the gold.

In certain fights, there have been six to eight competitors involved, but ultimately only one or two have a real chance of winning. Some contestants serve as supporting actors in these scenarios. Regarding this specific bout, numerous names come to mind as potential title holders – Steve Maclin, Frankie Kazarian, Moose, and Joe Hendry. I’m cheering for Hendry personally, but I won’t let him secure the victory. During my absence, good fortune be upon you. Any one of these contenders could legitimately emerge victorious, including Josh Alexander, who I believe is among the best performers in this league. I eagerly anticipate facing him in the ring.

Hendry’s name distinguishes him among others. Hailing from Scotland, he experienced a breakout year in 2024, gaining widespread recognition due to his popular theme song.

I wouldn’t simply assume that Joe Hendry will win just because of his high iTune downloads. That’s not how it goes. It’s fantastic that he’s made it to the main event and brought attention to NXT with all his efforts. It’s a beautiful thing, reminiscent of Zack Ryder during the YouTube era. There’s something truly unique about this experience, and they won’t intentionally sabotage him. They will ensure he continues on the right path.

Nemeth challenges for the TNA World Title this Saturday, July 20th at TNA Slammiversary.
