Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD Tops Japanese Charts for Third Consecutive Week

As a dedicated gamer and long-time follower of the Japanese gaming market, I must admit that I’m not at all surprised by the latest sales data from Famitsu. Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD continuing to dominate the charts for weeks on end is a testament to its enduring appeal, especially among fans of the franchise. And with Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown making a strong debut in second place, it’s clear that there’s still a healthy demand for new releases.

In the past three weeks, Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD has been the best-selling physical game in Japan, according to Famitsu’s most recent report. An extra 16,000 units were added to its sales, raising its total in Japan to more than 138,000 units.

Among the ten best-selling games, a few fresh entries have made an appearance. For instance, the Nintendo Switch adaptation of “Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown” by Namco Bandai, which debuted with more than 14,000 sales and ranked second on the charts. Additionally, Bliss Brain’s revamped life simulation game, “Princess Maker 2 Regeneration,” has entered the charts at the tenth position with over 3,600 units sold.

As a dedicated gamer, I’ve noticed something intriguing about the current top 10 games. Surprisingly, they all run on the Nintendo Switch! It’s not entirely unexpected, considering the popularity of Switch titles in Japan lately.

In terms of hardware sales in Japan, the Nintendo Switch outperformed other consoles last week with approximately 53,000 units sold. The PS5 came in second place with around 29,000 units sold during the same time frame.
