Superman: Will Reeve Opens Up About Cameo in James Gunn Movie

As a huge fan of Superman and the DC Universe, I’m thrilled to hear that Will Reeve, the son of the legendary Christopher Reeve, will be making a cameo in James Gunn‘s upcoming film, “Superman.” The news brings back fond memories of the iconic performances by Christopher Reeve in the role of Superman and the impact he had on popular culture.

As a gamer, I’m excited to share that the DC Universe is venturing into new grounds under the guidance of James Gunn and Peter Safran. They’re bringing iconic DC characters to life through movies and TV shows. The first project on this list is Gunn’s take on Superman, which will feature Will Reeve in its cast. Will, son of the legendary Christopher Reeve, is an actual journalist and ABC News correspondent. In a recent interview with TMZ, he shared some insights about his cameo, revealing that he’ll be playing a TV reporter in the movie.

As a gamer, I’ve built a strong connection with the filmmakers, who have generously welcomed me and my family. When I unexpectedly found myself with an extra day, we seized the opportunity to collaborate with them. I’m not entirely sure what I can share, but it was truly remarkable; they were incredibly warm and hospitable. The process was surprisingly effortless and quick. In fact, I felt more anxious about this experience than I do during my regular TV appearances because there was a large crowd present, and I had to remember just one line! Despite the nerves, it was an unforgettable adventure.

Superman‘s Cast and Crew

According to DC Studios, Superman is my character who explores his complex background as both an alien from Krypton and a human raised in Smallville, Kansas. He stands for truth, justice, and a brighter future, staying true to human compassion in a world that often dismisses it as outdated.

As a gamer, I’m excited to share that in Gunn’s direction, the upcoming Superman production will see me, David Corenswet, stepping into the roles of both Clark Kent and Superman. Rachel Brosnahan will bring Lois Lane to life, Skyler Gisondo will embody Jimmy Olsen, Nicholas Hoult will take on Lex Luthor, and Wendell Pierce will portray Perry White. Sara Sampaio is cast as Eve Teschmacher, Terence Rosemore as Otis, Mar?a Gabriela de Far?a as Angela Spica / The Engineer, Isabela Merced as Kendra Saunders / Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Edi Gathegi as Michael Holt / Mr. Terrific, Anthony Carrigan as Rex Mason / Metamorpho, Beck Bennett as Steve Lombard, and Christopher McDonald as Ron Troupe.

Christopher Reeve Documentary

As someone who grew up watching Christopher Reeve bring Superman to life on the big screen during the 70s and 80s, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement and nostalgia whenever I hear about his son, Will Reeve, making an appearance in the media. The elder Reeve’s legacy continues to shine brightly, touching countless lives through his iconic portrayal of the Man of Steel.

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of watching the moving and brilliant documentary, “Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story” by the skilled filmmakers. This production left me deeply moved and emotional. My partner, Peter, and I felt that DC Studios should be a part of bringing this masterpiece to the audience. I’m thankful for the hard work of our team at Warner Bros, HBO, CNN, and Max in acquiring it. It’s not just a must-see for fans of Christopher Reeve’s work but for everyone.

Superman is currently scheduled to be released exclusively in theaters on July 11, 2025.
