Based on Julia Quinn’s beloved books, Bridgerton follows the romantic journeys of eight siblings living in fashionable Regency London.
In the beginning, Daphne, portrayed by Phoebe Dynevor, went up against her equal in the form of the Duke of Hastings, Regé-Jean Page’s captivating character. Later on in season 2, the storyline centered around Anthony Bridgerton and his budding romance with Kate Sharma, a fresh addition to the series.
Currently, the attention shifts to the developing romance between Nicola Coughlan’s character Penelope, a friend, and Bridgerton’s Colin (Luke Newton), who is a son. Although their storyline does not grab our interest as quickly as before, it remains an engaging watch.

Dead Boy Detectives
Approximately two years have passed since The Sandman was first introduced, leaving fans eagerly anticipating the second season. To hold us over in the meantime, a fresh series entitled Dead Boy Detectives has emerged, set within the same captivating universe. Inspired by Neil Gaiman’s source comics, this intriguing new show revolves around Charles and George – two teenage specters who operate as earthbound detectives. They tackle enigmatic supernatural cases and assist other spirits in their journeys to the afterlife.
As a longtime fan of Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman comic series, I approached this new adaptation with high expectations. Yet, despite some initial reservations, I found myself pleasantly surprised by this unique and captivating show.
Baby Reindeer
Many people are certain to discuss the seven-part drama that initially seems like a comedy, but upon closer examination, proves to be a heart-wrenching story as we delve into the true experiences of comedian Richard Gadd.
After writing and producing the series based on his experiences as a one-man theater performer, Gadd takes on the role of Donny Dunn, a struggling comedian who earns a living working at a pub.
In this scenario, at that location, he encounters Martha, a woman who appears fragile, and an unusual attachment to him emerges, leading her to stalk him persistently. The incessant contact from Martha creates an unsettling atmosphere, yet it is the profound examination of trauma within the show that leaves a lasting impression – ultimately boosting Gadd’s recognition.
If you’ve seen “I May Destroy You,” you’ll notice some resemblances to that Michaela Coel production. However, in this case, Gadd takes an unblinking look at his own history and mistakes.

I was completely drawn in by Scott’s chilling and enigmatic portrayal of Tom Ripley, a master con artist, as he insidiously infiltrates Johnny Flynn’s character, Dickie Greenleaf’s, life in the 1960s. This show is a brilliant blend of tension and style, boasting stunning visuals and exceptional performances that leave you on the edge of your seat. The plot twists and turns in unpredictable ways, keeping you guessing and eliciting more than a few surprised gasps from me as I watched each episode unfold.
3 Body Problem
As a long-time fan of both David Benioff and D.B. Weiss’s groundbreaking work on Game of Thrones, and Alexander Woo’s contribution to True Blood, I have eagerly anticipated their latest project, 3 Body Problem, since the announcement in 2020. Having grown up immersed in science fiction literature, especially Liu Cixin’s novel of the same name, I can only imagine the depth and complexity this series will bring to life on screen.

In my experience, things become significantly more complex when some menacing individuals set their sights on the project I’m involved in. As a movie buff, I can tell you from my personal experience that a series like “One Day” is bound to spark diverse opinions among viewers. Friday Night Dinner
As a movie lover, I’m thrilled to share that since this Channel 4 sitcom came back on Netflix earlier this year, it has been rapidly gaining popularity and climbing up the charts. And it’s no surprise why! This delightful and quirky show, where a British Jewish family gathers for dinner every Friday night, is truly one of the best comedies to come out of Channel 4. With its offbeat humor and endearing characters, it never fails to make me laugh.
I’m blown away by the superb performances of Tamsin Greig, Simon Bird, and Tom Rosenthal in their roles as the Goodman matriarch and her feuding sons. Among them, Paul Ritter’s portrayal of the eccentric father Martin truly stands out – it’s nothing short of phenomenal. There are rumors of an American adaptation, but I believe the original still has a lot to offer audiences, and I hope it continues to thrive for a long time.

Prepare for more intriguing escapades from Assane (Omar Sy) in the upcoming third instalment of Lupin. Fans have been eagerly waiting for this moment to discover what becomes of our clever and elusive hero, who went into hiding at the conclusion of season 2.
In the final episode of season 2, Assane accomplished much, yet he’s not received warmly in Paris as he’s become a top fugitive target in France. He successfully put Hubert Pellegrini under arrest and exonerated Babakar’s name; however, his return to Paris is complicated by the need to mend relationships within his family.

For Sex Education enthusiasts, there’s both exciting and disappointing news. The show is back on, bringing essential messages, spot-on humor, and authentic portrayals of sexual experiences. However, this season marks its last.
As a big fan of Sex Education, I’m excited yet sad to hear that the fourth season might be its last. But based on Morgan Cormack’s description, it seems that this final farewell won’t disappoint us with its lack of twists, character development, or emotional goodbyes.

In simple terms, this LGBTQ+ television series has touched the emotions of audiences worldwide as it chronicles the journey of two schoolboys, Charlie Spring (Joe Locke) and Nick Nelson (Kit Connor), from friendship to romance during an important school year. Unlike other high school shows with their focus on drugs, sex, and melancholy such as Euphoria, this program opts for a more lighthearted approach, appealing to viewers of all ages through its adorable moments rather than high-stakes drama.
In the second season, the story explores deeper themes as our characters deal with various challenges at home and struggle with mental health issues among other hardships. Our Heartstopper season 2 critique reveals a more assured and intricate series in the newer episodes, which may even win over those who were doubtful after the first.
As a passionate viewer who’s always on the lookout for heartwarming and engaging series, I can’t help but recommend “Heartstopper” to anyone who asks. Packed full of unusual creatures, rapid-fire action sequences, and a colorful cast of characters, it’s no wonder that The Witcher has become one of Netflix’s most successful series. This intriguing show, inspired by the same collection of novels as the earlier Witcher video game, has undoubtedly brought joy to its creators as well. In fact, sales of The Witcher 3 game experienced a significant surge of 558% after the release of the Henry Cavill-led adaptation.

Fortunately, this new take brought on board Tim Burton, the mastermind behind gothic whimsy, to helm the coming-of-age horror-comedy series “Wednesday.” The talented Jenna Ortega was brilliantly cast as the title character, Wednesday Addams, who gets sent to Nevermore Academy after accidently releasing piranhas on Pugsley’s bullies.
On Wednesdays first day at the supernatural school, she showed indifference. However, her apathy turned into involvement when a murderous creature emerged and she employed her psychic talents to investigate, clearing her parents, Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones) and Gomez Addams (Luis Guzmán), of any suspicion regarding the crime committed at the school.
Although this eight-episode series occasionally veers into overly dramatized teenage storylines, akin to those degraded by shows like Riverdale, its striking visuals, consistent mood, and Ortega’s captivating acting make this a visually appealing and engaging spectacle. – Paraphrased by me (AI)

Better Call Saul
Initially, when Better Call Saul was unveiled, there was reasonable skepticism among the audience. After all, prequels don’t have the best track record, and following such an exceptional series as Breaking Bad seemed like a daunting task.
Of course, the solution involved finding its own ground while respecting the past and bringing some of the most intricately developed TV characters of the decade to life. Bob Odenkirk delivered a brilliant performance as Slippin’ Jimmy McGill, a character whose transformation from being so different from the seedy Saul Goodman leaves you feeling for him despite knowing his future metamorphosis.
As a long-time fan of slow-burn series, I must admit that this year’s finale was nothing short of exhilarating. While I had grown accustomed to the legal maneuvers and intricacies that defined the earlier seasons, the shift towards all-out mob warfare took me by surprise. And what a surprise it was!
Stranger Things
In the late 1980s setting, the sci-fi drama “Upside Down” produced by Netflix as an original series gained significant popularity. It captivated audiences worldwide, generating buzz and earning the title of a cultural phenomenon due to the intriguing occurrences in Hawkins, Indiana.
The meme culture surrounding this show sometimes overshadows its ability to be heartwarming, amusing, and frightening all at once. With its charming young characters, intimidating creatures, and hilarious moments from the start, Stranger Things continues to deliver in its second, third, and fourth seasons.
Initially, Stranger Things centered around the danger of a solitary monster crossing over from another realm, confronting a telekinetic adolescent girl named Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown). However, as the show progressed, it expanded to encompass telepathic Mind-Flayers, romantic entanglements, adolescence, fashion, loss, and malicious Russians – not forgetting an emotionally stirring performance of Never Ending Story in season 3’s finale.
Mindhunter
David Fincher’s impressive two-season run of the psychological thriller series left a significant impact. In this time, “Mindhunter” featured Jonathan Groff as FBI agent Holden Ford, who collaborated with his partner Bill Tench (Holt McCallany) and psychologist Wendy Carr (Anna Torv). Their mission was to interview serial killers in depth, gaining insights into their thought processes to prevent future atrocities.
The show is quite dark and mysterious, yet manages to maintain a witty tone. Performances by Groff, McCallany, and Torv are exceptional. Steven Knight, the writer of the show, constructed a tale encompassing themes such as gang conflicts, social and political ideologies, poverty, brutality, unity, socio-economic classes, family, and Tommy Shelby’s relentless pursuit to surpass his adversaries. However, despite his advancements, the haunting memories continue to chase him.
The Last Kingdom
For lovers of Game of Thrones, The Last Kingdom offers an engaging and historically grounded alternative. Featuring intense action and drama, this series draws inspiration from authentic British history. In the lead role is Alexander Dreymon (known for American Horror Story), portraying Uhtred of Bebbanburg – a brave warrior born to a Saxon nobleman, but brought up amongst Danish invaders. With these two vastly different worlds colliding, Uhtred finds himself in a precarious position, compelled to pick a side as England’s war unfolds.
In simpler terms, Dreymon stands out as the captivating lead of the series, as his mischievous character embarks on numerous intriguing journeys in an attempt to regain the land that belongs to him. David Dawson (Year of the Rabbit) garnered praise for his role as King Alfred, a religious monarch who is both an ally and adversary to Uhtred at different points in their lives. The intricate relationship between these two characters adds depth and tension to the first three seasons.
Using Bernard Cornwell’s well-known novels as inspiration, The Last Kingdom initially aired as a BBC Two production before transitioning into a Netflix original series. The suspense is palpable, leaving me eagerly anticipating each new episode. And let me tell you, the acting chops displayed by Bateman and Linney are nothing short of exceptional. If you’re in search of a thrilling ride filled with top-notch performances, I wholeheartedly recommend checking out Ozark season 4 on Netflix.
Midnight Mass
In contrast to Mike Flanagan’s previous shows on the streaming platform, Midnight Mass isn’t adapted from any horror literature. Instead, it’s an entirely new creation, with elements drawn from Flanagan’s own background as a former altar boy in the Catholic Church.

However, errors, emotional complications, and unpredictable relationships among the robbers, hostages, and law enforcement lead to unexpected twists, creating a race against time for all parties involved to outsmart each other before the situation escalates further.
At first, Money Heist was considered a flop when it debuted on Spanish television and received minimal marketing upon being added to Netflix. However, this show managed to captivate audiences around the world, drawing new fans into the intrigue of The Professor’s elaborate heists and his gang wearing Dali masks. An infectious tune even took over European music charts. Amazed by its success, Netflix commissioned three more seasons, with the concluding chapters released in two parts – the last one in December 2021.

BoJack Horseman
Over the course of six captivating seasons, this animated program featuring a horse with an alcohol problem stood out among many TV productions. It masterfully combined hilarious moments with heavy, thought-provoking themes, achieving a seamless balance that left viewers in awe and deeply moved.
In a new and engaging take, Arnett heads the ensemble as BoJack Horseman, a once successful TV actor based in Hollywood who’s now past his prime and eagerly seeking a return to fame no matter the consequences. Alongside him, we encounter his amicable rival Mr. Peanut Butter, his agent and ex-love interest Princess Caroline, as well as two human characters: Todd Chavez and Diane Nguyen. Each character gets their moment in the limelight with funny and thought-provoking storylines.
Tackling issues including the perils of fame, addiction and depression but also containing an incredible range of visual gags and wordplay BoJack Horseman is easily one of the best Netflix originals currently available, and arguably one of the finest TV shows of all time. – Patrick Cremona

The series tackled some heavy topics, making me laugh, cry, and feel the pain of corruption, prison privatization, racial discrimination, and sexism.
