In a recent interview, executive producer Becky Clements talked not only about casting Dr. Kureha but also shared insights into the filming procedures for season two. When asked about the timeline for the return of the live-action adaptation, Clements gave some hints.
In addition to updating us on the ongoing production of season two, Clements mentioned that the showrunners Matt Owens and new co-showrunner Joe Tracz are an excellent team, deeply committed to the series. They have a clear plan in place for this season, which is evident from the named villains in the chapters. Notably, One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda continues to be an integral part of the project, collaborating closely with them this season as well.
When Will One Piece Season Two Arrive?
In a recent interview, someone asked Clements when she and the One Piece live-action season two team might finish up their work. According to Becky, it could take some time, as they have a lot of visual effects (VFX) to complete, “This year is particularly heavy with VFX, so it will take some time. We’re still quite far off.” Clements then added that filming itself wouldn’t be wrapped up by summer but would carry on through the remainder of the year, “We won’t finish filming until December.”
It’s a safe guess that the second season of “One Piece” won’t premiere on Netflix this year. However, there’s a chance that the Straw Hat Pirates may return to our screens as early as 2025. Although the showrunners haven’t announced which arcs will be adapted in the upcoming season, fans are speculating based on recent casting and source material developments. Possible storylines include Drum Island, Loguetown, Little Garden, and Alabasta.
