As a long-time fan of both Samurai Jack and Beetlejuice, I am beyond excited to see these iconic characters join the roster of MultiVersus! Samurai Jack’s addition in the first half of Season 2 makes perfect sense given his time-traveling abilities and the “Back in Time” theme. The trailer showcases his impressive swordsmanship, agility, and quick reflexes that will make him a formidable Bruiser class fighter.
Samurai Jack and Beetlejuice are joining the cast of MultiVersus for Season 2, according to a recent announcement from Warner Bros. and Player First Games. These characters were unveiled at EVO 2024, with previews of each character released following the announcement. Samurai Jack will be available when Season 2 starts on July 23rd, while Beetlejuice will be added later in the season before the new Beetlejuice movie hits theaters in September.
With Samurai Jack being the initial new character added to the game during “Season 2: Back in Time” of MultiVersus, fans have been treated to a fresh perspective of him through a recently revealed trailer on Saturday, following the EVO 2024 announcement. Given his propensity for time travel, it is fitting that Samurai Jack joins the roster first in this themed season.
The press release accompanying the announcement confirmed that Samurai Jack is joining the Bruiser category of fighters. Additionally, it revealed the name of his initial alternate appearance shown in the trailer: “Righteous Warrior Jack.”
“In the announcement, it was revealed that Samurai Jack, the fearless warrior, was hurled into the future by the malevolent demon Aku. Determined to go back in time, he began an unyielding journey. Wielding his exceptional swordsmanship and remarkable agility, Samurai Jack is a formidable adversary. The latest MultiVersus gameplay trailer showcases Samurai Jack’s fighting abilities as a Bruiser class character. His mystical katana blade, nimble footwork, and swift reactions are evident in the video, leaving opponents airborne off the map. Additionally, the trailer unveils the Righteous Warrior Jack variant, which players can acquire through in-game purchase on July 23.”
As a long-time fan of Tim Burton’s quirky and imaginative films, I’m thrilled to hear that Beetlejuice is making his way into MultiVersus! Although we haven’t seen a full trailer yet, Player First Games gave us a sneak peek in the form of a teaser. While it’s not clear when exactly Beetlejuice will be available to play, I’m excited that he’ll join the roster “in advance of” the upcoming live-action Beetlejuice movie hitting North American theaters on September 6th. With my love for both the classic film and MultiVersus, I can hardly wait to see how this mischievous and eccentric character will fit into the game!
Starting on July 23rd, Ranked Mode will be introduced in Season 2 of MultiVersus. However, it remains undetermined whether new fighters will be accessible in the Ranked matches right away or with a delay.
