My Adventures with Superman has been an incredible journey for me as a fan of the Superman and Supergirl universe. Season 2 took us on a rollercoaster ride, introducing us to Kara Zor-El, Clark Kent’s long-lost cousin, and the dangers she faced under Brainiac’s mind control.
The saga of my experiences with Superman concludes with Season 2’s last episode. In this finale, Kara Zor-El received her very own super suit. At the start of this season, Clark discovered that his cousin had miraculously survived Krypton’s demise. After pondering whether to contact her or not, Clark eventually reached out to Kara, unaware that she had been working for Brainiac. This rogue machine was on a mission to restore the fallen Kryptonian Empire by obliterating planets in its name, which Kara believed to be her father.
Over the last few episodes before the final showdown, Clark and Kara faced considerable challenges. While Kara uncovered the truth about her actions during Brainiac’s mind control, Clark unwittingly fell under Brainiac’s spell. Brainiac seized control of Clark’s body, leaving Lois with no choice but to enter the Black Mercy to save him. Despite their newfound understanding, Brainiac remained a formidable foe. However, by the end of the finale, Kara played a crucial role in helping Clark regain his strength and ultimately assume the Supergirl persona we recognize today.
My Adventures with Supergirl
In a similar fashion to how “My Adventures with Superman” introduced Superman’s new suit towards the end of the series, the tenth episode of Season 2 saw Kara donning her own adaptation of the suit. Through the finale, Brainiac continued to manipulate Kara’s actions through the control of her suit, leaving both Kara and Clark engaged in a powerful battle. However, unlike Clark, who chose not to engage physically, he instead tried to reach out to the emotional turmoil within Kara, ultimately allowing her to regain control.
During their fierce battle against Brainiac, Kara and Clark find themselves in the heart of the sun’s rays. This unexpected source of sunlight grants them an incredible surge of power. Empowered by this newfound energy, they engage Brainiac once more. In a stunning turn of events, Kara dons a red and blue suit reminiscent of her cousin’s, marking a full circle moment for her. After struggling throughout the previous season, Kara and Clark now stand united as family members, ready to support each other through the upcoming challenges of Season 3.
