As a seasoned gamer with decades of fighting game experience under my belt, I can’t help but get excited about Capcom’s latest announcement! The fact that they’re bringing back SNK vs. Capcom: SVC CHAOS with a modern re-release is music to my ears. I remember the original launch in 2023 fondly, and the roster of 36 fighters from both companies was already a dream come true for me.
Capcom has added to the excitement surrounding “Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics” by unveiling a contemporary edition of “SNK vs. Capcom: SVC CHAOS.” Beginning July 22nd, this game will be accessible on PC via Steam, as well as PS4 and Nintendo Switch platforms. Witness the announcement trailer below for more details.
Introduced in July 2023, the SNK vs. Capcom: SVC CHAOS game brings together 36 fighters representing both companies. SNK contributes iconic characters such as Mai Shiranui and Terry Bogard from the “Fatal Fury” series, as well as Shiki (from “Samurai Shodown 64”) and Mars People. Capcom’s roster includes popular figures like Ryu, Chun-Li, Demitri Maximoff (“Darkstalkers”), and Zero (“Mega Man Zero”). Players can start the game right away with the secret Arcade characters, Athena and Red Arremer.
The re-launched version comes packed with numerous enhancements and new features. Among these are rollback netcode for enhanced online gameplay experience, a hitbox viewer for better accuracy during matches, and a Gallery Mode to showcase over 80 stunning pieces of art. Up to nine players can join online lobbies, while tournament formats like single elimination, round-robin, and others can be configured for custom events.
