Nintendo Reveals New Amiibo Figures Coming This Year

As a dedicated fan of both Nintendo and the Splatoon series, I couldn’t be more excited about the upcoming releases of these new amiibo figures! It’s been a bit of a wait since the last new additions to the line, so having four new figures based on the fresh designs from Splatoon 3 is truly a treat.

As a long-time fan of Nintendo and Splatoon, I must admit that this year has been rather uneventful for the amiibo line. Most of the releases in 2024 have been restocks of older figures, making it difficult for collectors to add new characters to their collections. However, my excitement is renewed as Nintendo has announced four new Splatoon-themed figures coming out soon!

Supporters of the amiibo collection may remember that each of these characters previously had figurines released. Callie and Marie got their amiibo from their initial appearances in “Splatoon,” whereas Pearl and Marina were represented in “Splatoon 2.” However, all four characters underwent design makeovers in “Splatoon 3,” and the new amiibo correspond to these updated looks. The dual-pack of Squid Sisters is modeled after Callie and Marie’s fresh appearances in the game’s solo mode, while Pearl and Marina have revamped appearances based on the “Side Order” DLC.

Below, you’ll find snapshots of the newly available two-packs. Interested readers can place a pre-order at Best Buy’s site, located here and here, for a price of $29.99 per set.

To put it simply, these fresh amiibo are being introduced to mark the two-year anniversary of Splatoon 3. After the Splatfest in August, another grand Splatfest is scheduled for September 12th. In this event, participants will be asked to choose between the Past, Present, or Future as what matters most to them. As of now, Nintendo hasn’t shared whether this will be the last Splatfest or if it holds significance for the next game in the series. Based on rumors from data miners like OatmealDome, there might be Splatoween and Frosty Fest events, suggesting more Splatfests could be on the horizon. Let’s hope Nintendo reveals more details about the Grand Festival soon!
