WWE NXT Reveals Women’s Tag Title Match, Joe Hendry, and More for Great American Bash

WWE NXT Reveals Women's Tag Title Match, Joe Hendry, and More for Great American Bash

As a long-time WWE gamer and avid NXT fan, I couldn’t contain my excitement when I heard about the upcoming Great American Bash event. The card for week one was nothing short of impressive, with three Championship matches and a special concert from Joe Hendry, who has been a favorite of mine since his TNA days.

Over the next two weeks, WWE NXT will air its Great American Bash event on Syfy in a unique presentation. Tonight marked the confirmation of week one’s schedule with several significant matches. The first week will include three championship bouts and a special concert from fan-favorite Joe Hendry. However, Gallus expressed displeasure over this development. The NXT Women’s Championship match between Roxanne Perez and Thea Hail was already set prior to this week, but tonight made it official. WWE also confirmed two more title clashes: a high-stakes Women’s Tag Team Championship bout and a challenge for the NXT Heritage Cup. Additional surprises may be in store during the show.

Return of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champs

In tonight’s NXT episode, Meta-Four’s team consisting of Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson aimed to make a statement against Sol Ruca and Karmen Petrovic’s team. Securing a victory was crucial for Meta-Four’s duo, as it had been some time since they last tasted success in tag team matches. With Meta-Four making waves in NXT as a group, Legend and Jackson were determined to demonstrate their formidable teamwork and fighting skills. However, following their hard-earned win, the victors addressed two individuals outside of NXT.

At the victory celebration, Legend took the microphone and invited Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn, formerly known as The Unholy Union, to join him. These two ex-NXT rivals of Legend and Jackson had since become WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions at Clash at the Castle. Since the titles can be defended on any brand, Legend and Jackson issued a challenge for Fyre and Dawn to bring their championships to NXT and face them in a title match. The champions accepted the invitation via social media, making it an official bout.

The Heritage Cup

Recently, The Family and No Quarter Catch Crew have been spending a lot of time together. Despite Tony D’Angelo refusing to assist Charlie Dempsey with his ongoing issues, the two groups remain on friendly terms. Tonight, they had a conversation backstage during which D’Angelo proposed that Dempsey challenge him for the Heritage Cup title. The newest addition to The Family, Tavion Heights, will be the one stepping up against The Don for a chance at the championship.

I Believe in Joe Hendry

Joe Hendry was prominently showcased on tonight’s NXT program. Highlighting his journey to fame in TNA and his growing fan base in WWE, a video segment was dedicated to the TNA veteran. It was announced that Hendry would participate in the Great American Bash event without engaging in a ring match (at least initially). NXT fans, who have yet to experience one of Hendry’s concerts, are in for an enjoyable treat during the first week of this year’s Great American Bash.

If you’re not Gallus, Hendry has been a persistent annoyance towards him since joining NXT. The feeling between them is mutual as they’ve expressed their disdain for each other. Previously, mentioning Hendry’s name would bring him into the picture, but tonight Hendry had an unexpected trick up his sleeve. As Gallus exits, flyers for Hendry’s concert are discovered plastered on their vehicle and windshield, leaving them displeased. It remains uncertain if Gallus will confront Hendry at GAB during week two or at a later time, potentially leading to a match.

NXT’s Week One of the Great American Bash will take place on July 30th on Syfy.
