Blumhouse’s Speak No Evil Gets New Trailer

Blumhouse's Speak No Evil Gets New Trailer

As a huge fan of both James McAvoy’s versatile acting abilities and the chilling productions from Blumhouse and Universal Pictures, I am beyond excited for the upcoming horror movie “Speak No Evil.” McAvoy’s transformation from a charming lead to a terrifying villain in films like “Split” showcases his talent, and I can’t wait to see him delve deeper into this darker side of his character.

During summertime, numerous individuals enjoy tranquil getaways. However, Blumhouse Productions and Universal Pictures’ latest horror production, titled “Speak No Evil,” presents a chilling alternative. In this film, a peaceful retreat transforms into a terrifying ordeal. The trailer for this nerve-wracking project was recently released. Starring the versatile James McAvoy, who has captivated audiences with his charismatic performances throughout his career, the actor takes on an unsettling new role under M. Night Shyamalan’s direction in the 2017 film “Split.” McAvoy’s chilling transformation as a villain was first showcased in that production and appears to reach its peak in “Speak No Evil,” which premieres in theaters on September 13th. Catch a glimpse of the new trailer above before it hits the big screen.

An inviting weekend at a beautiful English countryside mansion for an American family turns from a perfect getaway to a complex psychological horror, after being extended the gracious invitation by a beloved British family they met on vacation.

Produced by Blumhouse, the studio behind “The Black Phone,” “Get Out,” and “The Invisible Man,” comes a gripping suspense thriller set in the present day. BAFTA-winning actor James McAvoy (“Split,” “Glass”) delivers an outstanding performance as the charming, dominant landowner whose seemingly endless generosity hides a horrifying secret.

As a movie buff with a soft spot for character-driven dramas, I’m always on the lookout for intriguing cast ensembles and thought-provoking storylines. With “Speak No Evil,” this indie film checks all the boxes for me. The star-studded lineup, featuring Mackenzie Davis and Scoot McNairy from some of my favorite shows and movies, immediately piqued my interest.

James Watkins, who has penned and helmed films like “Eden Lake” and “The Woman in Black,” is responsible for both writing and directing “Speak No Evil.” This chilling horror film is an adaptation of the 2022 Danish terror sensation, “Gaesterne.” The original screenplay was crafted by Christian Tafdrup and Mads Tafdrup. “Gaesterne” received a remarkable 11 nominations for the Danish Film Awards, which function similarly to the Oscars in recognition of cinematic excellence.

As a film enthusiast with a soft spot for horror and suspense genres, I’ve been keeping an eye out for exciting new projects, and I’m thrilled to share my take on “Speak No Evil.” This intriguing production, hailing from the brilliant minds of Jason Blum, known for his work on “Five Nights at Freddy’s” and “M3GAN,” and Paul Ritchie, who has given us gems like “McMafia” and “The Ipcress File,” is a must-watch.

Speak No Evil lands in theaters on September 13th.
