Does Deadpool & Wolverine Have a Post-Credit Scene?

As a long-time gamer and Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) fan, I have been eagerly anticipating the release of “Deadpool & Wolverine.” The prospect of finally seeing Hugh Jackman’s iconic portrayal of Wolverine teaming up with Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool was an exciting proposition that had me counting down the days.

As a dedicated gamer and long-time fan of the Deadpool universe, I’m thrilled that the day has finally arrived for the release of the much-anticipated third Deadpool movie! For years, we’ve been eagerly waiting for the epic team-up between Hugh Jackman’s iconic Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds’ wisecracking Deadpool.

At the finale of the Deadpool and Wolverine film, the credits take on a heartfelt tone, looking back at some of Fox’s Marvel productions. The journey began with X-Men in 2000, introducing Jackman as Wolverine for the first time. Since then, numerous X-Men films and other Marvel titles have been added to the roster, all showcased during the credits.

Why Does Deadpool & Wolverine Pay Tribute to the Fox Universe?

Does Deadpool & Wolverine Have a Post-Credit Scene?

Disney acquired Fox in 2019, marking the end of the Fox Universe to a large extent. However, Deadpool and Wolverine pay homage to all Fox films in an unexpected manner. Although some of these movies from Fox were box office disappointments, the post-credits scenes of Deadpool and Wolverine don’t avoid any projects. Despite your feelings towards certain movies, you can’t help but feel a pang of emotion as the tribute unfolds.

During the closing credits, you’ll find never-before-seen footage from behind the scenes of various productions, including “X-Men,” “Elektra,” and “Fantastic Four” (released in 2005). Both the younger and older casts of the “X-Men” films are showcased, as well as a nod to the “Fantastic Four” film from 2015. These credits serve as a fond farewell, but there’s still a possibility that some characters from this universe may make an appearance in upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe projects.

Despite the unexpectedly gentle ending credits for a Deadpool film, the post-credits scene delivers the crass and hilarious antics Deadpool fans are accustomed to. Here’s a brief description of the last scene in the movie:

Deadpool & Wolverine‘s Post-Credits Scene Explained

Does Deadpool & Wolverine Have a Post-Credit Scene?

Caution: Significant plot twists follow for Deadpool and Wolverine… One of the most shocking moments in the film was the emergence of Chris Evans as Johnny Storm. Previously, Evans had portrayed the Human Torch in both “Fantastic Four” (2005) and “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer” (2007). Initially, viewers believe he’s reprising his role as Captain America. However, a stunning revelation occurs when Evans exclaims Johnny’s iconic phrase, “Ignite!”

In an intriguing turn of events at The Void, Deadpool, Wolverine, and Johnny cross paths. After being captured by Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin), Deadpool reveals that Johnny had spoken disrespectfully about her, leading Cassandra to take violent revenge against the Fantastic Four member. Throughout the movie, Wolverine holds Deadpool responsible for Johnny’s demise. However, the post-credits scene humorously unveils that Deadpool was actually in the clear.

In the closing moment, Deadpool goes back to the TVA for a repeat viewing of his clash with Johnny Blaze. Throughout this confrontation, Johnny makes all the same derogatory remarks about Cassandra that Deadpool had made before. To cap it off, Johnny declares, “Feel free to use that in your next monologue.”

This Deadpool film conclusion wasn’t a hint at future MCU developments, but it did seem fitting for a standalone Deadpool story.

Deadpool & Wolverine is now playing in theaters.
