Gundam: Requiem For Vengeance Releases New Trailer

As a long-time fan of the Gundam universe, I am beyond excited for the upcoming CG animated series, “Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance,” which is set to be released on Netflix this October. The original Gundam anime adaptation from the 1970s holds a special place in my heart, and it’s incredible to see how the franchise has evolved over the years while staying true to its roots.


In the late 1970s, the foundation of the Gundam universe was laid. However, this franchise has continued to thrive due to its adaptability. Through the efforts of Bandai Namco Filmworks, numerous anime universes have emerged within this franchise, all connected by the iconic mech suits. Starting this October, Netflix invites Gundam enthusiasts to revisit the origin story with a fresh perspective. The upcoming series, titled “Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance,” employs Computer-Generated Imagery (CG) animation to explore a darker side of the anime universe. A new trailer showcases this intriguing new take.

As a dedicated gamer and fan of the original Gundam series, I can tell you that my first encounter with these iconic mech suits was through the lens of the Earth Federation-Zeon conflict. I was right there with Amuro, the young pilot, as he went head-to-head against the seasoned military man, Char. This epic battle marked the beginning of a universe that has been revisited numerous times in Gundam’s rich history.

Requiem For Vengeance Trailer

Normally, the Gundam series has used traditional two-dimensional animation for depicting its robot battles. However, the latest installment, Requiem For Vengeance, takes a different approach by constructing its entire narrative in “Unreal Engine” instead. Although the animation may be experimenting with new techniques, it’s apparent that the franchise will continue to deliver thrilling mech fights as part of its newest storyline.

Requiem for Vengeance.” This innovative production consists of six episodes, each lasting 30 minutes, concentrating on the European theater of the One Year War – the backdrop of the initial “Mobile Suit Gundam” series. In collaboration with SAFEHOUSE and utilizing Unreal Engine 5, this series is penned by Gavin Hignight, a talented writer behind “Tekken: Bloodline,” “Transformers: Cyberverse,” and “Marvel’s Spider-Man.” Erasmus Brosdau, an accomplished director with experience in “Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness” and various video games such as “Star Citizen,” “Ryse: Son of Rome,” and the “Crysis” series, leads the direction of this captivating project.
