As a dedicated fan of Marvel games, I’m absolutely thrilled about the latest addition to Marvel Rivals: Jeff the Land Shark! I mean, who would have thought we’d be seeing a walking, singing land shark as a playable character in this epic game? It just goes to show how creative and innovative NetEase Games is.
In a recent Marvel Rivals cinematic trailer, NetEase Games playfully previewed Thor’s appearance. Subsequently, they have disclosed that Thor will be accessible in the closed beta commencing July 27th. Moreover, an entirely fresh character, Jeff the Land Shark, was introduced. Yes, you read it correctly. Witness the teaser trailer for this peculiar newcomer below.
Jeff, affectionately known as Jeffrey by his owner Gwen Poole, is a common shark who lives with the superhero transported from reality. While Gwen boasts extraordinary abilities akin to Deadpool, Jeff lacks any superpowers of his own. He may not be much different from other sharks, but what sets him apart is his diminutive size and remarkable ability to traverse land. Much like a regular shark, he bites and even sings, though the significance of these talents remains debatable.
As a gamer, I’m excited about trying out the new Marvel Rivals game, but I haven’t figured out yet how my character will play. The bubbles in the teaser trailer make me think there could be some kind of ranged attack involved. I can’t wait for more information before I jump into the closed beta tomorrow.
The closing date for the beta testing of “Marvel Rivals” is August 5th, at midnight in Pacific Daylight Time, and this game can be played on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and personal computers.
