The Mighty Nein Animated Series First Look Revealed

The Mighty Nein Animated Series First Look Revealed

As a long-time fan of Critical Role and tabletop RPGs, I can barely contain my excitement for Amazon Studios’ upcoming animated series, The Mighty Nein! Having followed the adventures of Vox Machina so closely, I’m thrilled to see the spotlight shift to this new group of adventurers.

Amazon Studios unveiled an early peek at its upcoming “The Mighty Nein” series during San Diego Comic-Con. At the event, Amazon Studios shared an “advance preview” of “The Mighty Nein,” its animated adaptation of Critical Role’s second campaign. The clip below displays Jester (Laura Bailey) fleeing from a band of city guards, only to collide with Fjord (Travis Willingham), who inadvertently subdues the guards with an explosive blast. This event did not transpire in the genuine Critical Role series as it took place during the “Session Zero” that preceded the primary campaign.

In a charming coincidence filled with unintentional sorcery, come take a look at this special preview of the newest animated show, Mighty Nein.

As a passionate gamer and avid fan of Critical Role’s flagship show, I’m thrilled to share that Amazon is taking our favorite production company’s partnership to new heights with an exciting new animated series. This expansion builds on Amazon’s recent strides into adult animated shows and captivating fantasy stories. With the upcoming release of “The Legend of Vox Machina” and “Mighty Nein,” we’re in for a treat, as these series epitomize both genres.

The animated series “The Mighty Nein” by Amazon Studios is linked to the same universe as “The Legend of Vox Machina,” another Critical Role production by Amazon. However, it doesn’t follow directly from the events of that show. In this storyline, a motley crew of adventurers called The Mighty Nein will be at the center of the action, inadvertently attempting to prevent a war between the Dwendalian Empire and the Krynn Dynasty. Cast members including Matt Mercer, Marisha Ray, Ashley Johnson, Liam O’Brien, Sam Riegel, and Taliesin Jaffe will lend their voices to the production, in addition to Bailey and Willingham.

As an excited fan, I can’t wait for the upcoming new show! Although no definite release date has been given yet, I’ve heard that the talented cast members have been busy recording their voiceovers. It feels like a promising sign that we might get to enjoy this new production in the year 2025.
