As a long-time fan of the Borderlands series, I’ve been eagerly anticipating the release of the next mainline game. Ever since Gearbox Entertainment confirmed that they were working on it earlier this year, I’ve been keeping my fingers crossed for an official announcement. While there was never any doubt in my mind that a Borderlands 4 was coming, the lack of an official confirmation has felt like a missing piece in the puzzle.
In an interview with GamesRadar, Pitchford did not directly mention “Borderlands 4” as Gearbox’s upcoming major production. However, he acknowledged that he had previously hinted at what the studio was developing. He further revealed that the announcement of this project is imminent.
“Although I’ve tried my best to keep it under wraps, it’s no secret that we’ve been working on numerous significant projects,” Pitchford admitted. “Our fans have much to look forward to with our upcoming video game announcement. Rest assured, we won’t keep you waiting too long for the reveal.”
It’s worth noting that Pitchford hinted at the development of a follow-up to the Dungeons and Dragons-inspired game, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, according to his statements. This suggestion aligns with earlier leaks.
