As a dedicated Hatsune Miku fan since her inception back in 2007, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and nostalgia upon hearing about her upcoming movie, “Project Sekai: The Movie – Broken World and Miku Who Doesn’t Sing.” Having watched her evolution from a simple vocaloid to a full-blown virtual idol, I’ve witnessed firsthand how she’s revolutionized the entertainment industry and paved the way for virtual idols, Vtubers, and Hololive.

Produced by P.A. Works, the upcoming Hatsune Miku film is set to premiere on January 17, 2025. A release date outside of Japan has not been announced yet. Fans of Vocaloid are optimistic that the movie will be distributed internationally by the end of 2025, but we’ll have to keep an eye on developments for confirmation.
