PlayStation Reveals New Astro Bot PS5 Controller

As a long-time PlayStation gamer with a deep appreciation for innovative and immersive gaming experiences, I’m thrilled to hear that Astro Bot is coming to PlayStation 5 on September 6th, along with an exclusive DualSense controller inspired by the game.

On September 6th, Astro Bot will make its way to PlayStation 5, and this day also marks the release of an exclusive DualSense controller inspired by the game. The Astro Bot Limited Edition DualSense boasts a design influenced by the character’s blue, black, and white color scheme. While it primarily maintains the standard DualSense’s white color, there are distinct variations. The handles now sport a blue pattern, and buttons bear blue accents. Most notably, the touch pad undergoes a transformation into a sleek black surface, adorned with two expressive robotic blue eyes.

Starting August 9th at 7 a.m. Pacific Time, you can place pre-orders for the limited Astro Bot edition DualSense controllers at selected dealers and from PlayStation Direct. Each controller is priced at $79.99 as shown in the image below.

As someone who has been an avid gamer for over two decades, I’ve seen my fair share of game controllers, but none quite like the DualSense. When “Astro’s Playroom” was first released back in 2016, it felt like a breath of fresh air, showcasing the potential of this innovative controller with its unique features such as haptic feedback and motion controls.

In recent times, Astro has gained prominence as the beloved symbol of the PlayStation series, thanks to Team Asobi’s dedication. Though Astro has primarily served to highlight the capabilities of various PlayStation gadgets, the caliber of these encounters has left an indelible mark on gamers. The future remains uncertain if Astro Bot will uphold this tradition; however, based on what’s been unveiled thus far, expectations are high. Social media buzz surrounding the new controller is equally enthusiastic. Given that the number of controllers available will be restricted, PlayStation enthusiasts are advised to pre-order to secure one.
