Did Abi Webster set fire to scheming Stefan’s office in Coronation Street?

As a long-time fan of Coronation Street, I must say that tonight’s episode was nothing short of gripping! The tension between Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) and Abi Franklin (Sally Carman-Duttine) has been building for weeks, and tonight it reached its climax.

In tonight’s thrilling episode of Coronation Street (July 29, 2024), Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) found himself questioning whether his wife Abi (Sally Carman-Duttine) may have intentionally set a fire.

1. The day took a dramatic turn as Tyrone Dobbs, played by Alan Halsall, inquired about Kevin’s son Jack (Kyran Bowes), who had been distressed due to some school bullies targeting him because of the fake videos involving Abi.

1. Unbeknownst to Kevin, Jack was enduring hardships. In spite of this, he and Abi disclosed the truth to Jack, consoled him, and pledged to maintain honesty moving forward.

Later, the pair got a call from Stefan Brent, or Paul Opacic as you may know him, who is the dad of Corey, the person responsible for killing Abi’s child, Seb Franklin. Harry Visinoni played the role of Seb in this scenario.

In response to allegations that he made videos of Abi out of retaliation for her criticizing him, Stefan requested a meeting to resolve and terminate their ongoing dispute.

Following a conversation with his sister Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) regarding her interactions with Jack and an encounter with Stefan, Kevin pondered if it would be wise to listen to Stefan’s side of the story while Abi expressed doubt.

Later on, while Jack was home alone, Stefan unexpectedly dropped by without being recognized by Jack. Jack welcomed Stefan in, not suspecting any danger. However, when Stefan manipulated the situation to make Jack leave for a quick errand to buy milk, Abi and Kev discovered that the burner phone which Kevin had taken from Stefan was no longer there.

Jack regretted allowing Stefan into the house and felt angry with himself, more so when he discovered potential evidence of deep-fakes on the stove. However, Abi reassured him that he wasn’t to blame for this situation.

1. During her visit to Stefan’s workplace, Abi put forth an argument about his recent actions, yet Stefan coldly advised her to abandon the issue altogether, implying she had already missed out on winning.

1. In the garage, Colson Smith’s character Craig Tinker apprehended Kevin for burglary. Later, at the police station, Craig was reminded about the earlier allegation that the video evidence showing Kevin breaking into Stefan’s property might be a deepfake. (This version maintains the original sequence of events and uses simpler language to make it more accessible.)

1) It turns out that what was initially thought otherwise is true – Kevin did break into a place (burglarize). He came back home to admit this, and his court hearing for his confession would be next week.

Jack kept apologizing for what happened, while Abi urged him to visit some pals. Simultaneously, Abi went out on her own, with Kevin staying behind.

When Abi returned, Kevin showed her a news video of Stefan’s office on fire.

1. When Abi commented that Stefan finally received his due, Kevin appeared greatly concerned. Could it be that Abi was responsible for the act, and are the Websters on their way to incarceration? (Paraphrased)
