Shiloh Jolie-Pitt's Hearing to Drop "Pitt" From Her Name Postponed

As a seasoned writer and researcher with over a decade of experience under my belt, I must say that I am thoroughly impressed by the rich and dynamic lives led by Angelina Jolie and her children. Having followed their journey through various media platforms, I find myself captivated by their humanitarian efforts, artistic endeavors, and personal growth.

Shiloh Jolie-Pitt‘s quest to change her name will take a little longer.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s 18-year-old daughter is in the middle of legally changing her last name from “Pitt” to something else. However, the court hearing to officially finalize this process has been postponed for a few weeks due to an administrative hold-up.

regretfully, the court didn’t finish the background check in time for today’s trial; thus, the hearing has been pushed back to August 19, as stated by Shiloh’s attorney, Peter K. Levine, to TopMob News on July 29.

He pointed out that such delays are common and explained, “Shiloh’s name change hearing was rescheduled due to a court clerk’s oversight while processing the necessary background check.”

Shiloh’s name change process took about two months. She initially submitted paperwork on her 18th birthday, which was May 27, to transform her name from Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt to just Shiloh Nouvel Jolie.

Lately, an attorney representing Shiloh chose to publish a public announcement about her intention to adopt a fresh identity in the Los Angeles Times, following California’s legal requirement that any name change be announced in the local newspaper.

A reliable insider shared with TopMob News that Shiloh, who is the fourth eldest among Angelina and Brad’s six children including Maddox (22), Pax (20), Zahara (19), and the 15-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox, is personally financing this case by retaining her own legal representation.

But Shiloh is not the first of her siblings to have chosen a different moniker.

As an obsessed fan, I couldn’t contain my excitement when I saw Vivienne’s name listed as Vivienne Jolie in the Broadway musical “The Outsiders” program. She worked alongside Angelina to bring this production to life, and I felt a deep connection to their collaboration.

Even Angelina and Brad (who split up in 2016) have experienced changes in their names over time. Angelina, originally known as Angelina Jolie Voight, chose to use her middle name instead of her father’s surname, Jon Voight. Meanwhile, Brad, whose birth name is William Bradley Pitt, is commonly recognized by his middle name.

After developing a deep affection for Cambodia during the filming of “Tomb Raider” in 2001, Angelina Jolie made a trip to an orphanage in Battambang with the intention of adopting her first child.

She didn’t feel a sense of connection with any of them initially, but when she saw Maddox, born on August 5, 2001, hanging in a box from the ceiling during her visit, she suddenly felt a strong bond. This instant connection left her in tears, crying profusely. She later shared this emotional experience with Vanity Fair.

When she was 26, the woman went solo in adopting her oldest child. Later on, once she started dating Brad Pitt, he also initiated the adoption process for the same child.

Due to his curiosity in his mother’s profession, when Angelina took on directing the 2017 film First They Killed My Father, which was an adaptation of her friend Loung Ung’s book detailing the Cambodian genocide under the Khmer Rouge regime, Maddox decided to contribute as an executive producer. Speaking about his involvement, he shared with People that he was simply trying to assist wherever possible. Regarding his supervisor, or in other words, his mother, he described her as “fun, humorous, and enjoyable to work with,” adding that she’s “truly amazing.”

Maddox, who earned his biochemistry degree from Yonsei University in South Korea (a source of great pride for his mother), was invited to the White House state dinner in April 2023. The esteemed guests included Presidents Joe Biden and Yoon Suk Yeol, along with their respective spouses, Dr. Jill Biden and Kim Keon Hee.

29th November, 2003 marked the birthdate of this individual. For three and a half years, he lived in a single location, confined to one room, sharing a small iron bed with twenty other children, without any personal choices or freedom, as Angelina recounted to MSN in 2007, describing his early life in an orphanage situated outside Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

With Maddox and sisters Zahara and Shiloh residing in our household, Angelina expressed, “all of a sudden, he finds himself in a liberated environment surrounded by new siblings, parents, and all.” “He’s currently mastering the English language and is full of love and mischief as he revels in his newfound freedom,” she added. “Despite being quite young, he exhibits remarkable strength and resilience.”

Pax, who has a passion for the family business, acted as Yoo in Angelina Jolie’s 2016 animated film “Kung Fu Panda 3” and worked as a set photographer on “First They Killed My Father” prior to attending the Golden Globes with his mother in 2018.

1. Apart from that, he was involved in adorning Atelier Jolie, an innovative fashion studio and tailoring business Angelina launched in New York City, and held a position within the assistant director team on the Italian production of her forthcoming movie titled “Without Blood”.

In an interview with People, Angelina described her experience working alongside Pax and Maddox by saying, “A top-notch film crew has this amazing sense of camaraderie, making it feel like a close-knit family. That’s why everything seemed very natural.”

Three-year-old Maddox joined Angelina at the Hawassa orphanage in Ethiopia, where she met her eldest child Zahara, born on January 8, 2005. Angelina shared with Anderson Cooper later on that “Mad is fond of her.” When Zahara came home, she was already seven months old, making the experience for Maddox similar to having a tiny pet he could cradle and observe.

Just like her brothers and sisters, Zahara has shown enthusiasm for various aspects of her mother’s career. She’s walked the red carpet with her family, started a jewelry line called Zahara Collection in partnership with Robert Procop in 2019, and joined her mom on UNHCR trips to help Syrian refugees.

2022 August found me battling tears as I bid farewell to Zahara at Atlanta’s esteemed Spelman College, sharing on Instagram my hope that I could keep it together (“I haven’t started crying yet…so hopefully I won’t lose it”). Yet, the allure of the homecoming celebrations at this historic Black institution drew me back later on.

2023 saw me, Zahara, proudly becoming a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority at my alma mater. Beyond that, I’ve had the privilege of traveling alongside an inspiring actress on multiple occasions to Washington D.C.

After making the joyous news of her pregnancy public several months prior, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt welcomed their daughter Shiloh into the world at Cottage Hospital in Swakopmund, Namibia on May 27, 2006. In an interview with MSN, Angelina shared her affectionate feelings towards her newborn, expressing that “she’s full of light and love, a little sweetheart with a great sense of humor,” adding that “I see some of myself in her – she’s going to keep us on our toes!”

2014 marked Shiloh’s first appearance on the red carpet at the premiere of Unbroken. Subsequently, she attended events for Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, The Breadwinner, Dumbo, the 2018 National Board of Review Awards Gala, and the 2021 Eternals premiere where she donned her mother’s Dior gown.

In a chatty manner, Angelina shared with Daily Pop on TopMob, “Wow, go ahead and borrow my clothes! Wear them better than me if you can!” She admitted, “I’m that kind of mother who says, ‘Take it, it’s your time now.'”

Besides expressing an interest in Angelina’s charitable works, it appears that Shiloh has also ventured into the world of entertainment, often visiting the Millennium Dance Complex in Los Angeles.

2024 marks Shiloh Jolie-Pitt’s 18th birthday, during which she chose to initiate a process to officially drop the “Pitt” portion of her surname in a Los Angeles court. Sources close to the matter have revealed that Shiloh has engaged the services of a personal lawyer and covered the associated costs independently. This information was shared with TopMob News.

At the 2008 Independent Spirit Awards, Angelina Jolie made her first public appearance with her growing belly. Later in Nice, France on July 12, 2008, she welcomed the birth of her sons, Knox and Vivienne. Adjusting to their new life at Château Miraval, Angelina shared with People magazine that the family was coping well and enjoying the experience despite the chaos. Meanwhile, Shiloh and Zahara were excitedly involved in choosing clothes for their new siblings and helping care for them.

Named after Brad’s grandfather, Hal Knox Hillhouse, Angelina observed that “Knox has many similarities to Brad, both emotionally and physically.” In fact, they shared a strong resemblance at the 2015 British Motorcycle Grand Prix.

Similar to their older siblings Pax, Zahara, and Shiloh, Knox also made a small appearance in the 2016 film “Kung Fu Panda 3,” lending his voice to the character Ku Ku. As Jolie shared with ET, they are rather reserved and not particularly keen on acting. However, Jolie didn’t want them to miss out on the chance. They stepped in for the role and had a great time doing it.

In an interview with TopMob News, Angelina described Knox, her younger fraternal twin, as having similar traits to her late mother Marcheline Bertrand. She explained, “Knox is more about supporting others in the creative sphere rather than seeking the limelight herself. Like my mom, she’s deeply thoughtful and dedicated to theater, always striving to work hard and find her unique role within it.”

Despite delivering a stellar performance as the younger Aurora in Maleficent (2014), which left even Angelina Jolie impressed, this high school student has since shown a preference for roles behind the scenes.

As an obsessed fan, I can’t help but share my excitement over Angelina’s story! You know how much I adore Francis Ford Coppola’s 1983 masterpiece, The Outsiders? Well, Angelina feels the same way and was deeply moved by it. She shared that Vivienne, her inspiring mom, played a pivotal role in bringing this classic to Broadway. So, with a heart full of passion and dedication, I, Angelina, joined my producer mom’s team as a volunteer assistant on the Tony-winning project. It was an incredible experience, and I’m forever grateful for Vivienne’s encouragement.

Angelina shared with People that Vivienne, also known as Vivienne Jolie in the playbill, would correct her if needed. “She’ll remind me,” Angelina explained, “she’ll say, ‘Have you checked the memo? We need to do this, we must go through it,'” she added, expressing Vivienne’s dedication and seriousness as an assistant.
