Stranger Things star mocks long wait between seasons with cheeky pic

As a dedicated fan of Stranger Things, I can’t help but be intrigued and slightly frustrated by the long waits between seasons. The anticipation for each new installment is palpable, and yet we find ourselves waiting years on end to satisfy our hunger for more.

As a movie reviewer, I’ve noticed that the frequency of new seasons for some shows has slowed down recently. But when it comes to taking lengthy breaks, nothing quite compares to the enigmatic world of Stranger Things.

2016 and 2017 saw the release of the initial two seasons of the Netflix sci-fi series, followed by a break of two years before season 3 premiered in 2019.

As an enthusiastic viewer, I’m thrilled to share that we’re venturing into uncharted territory! The next two installments, Seasons 4 and 5, are set to take us on a journey even more captivating than before. Season 4 is slated for release in the year 2022, while Season 5 is expected to arrive three seasons later, in 2025. This means we’re in for an exciting break of three seasons each!

Fans remain anxious for the arrival of the fifth season, but the actors aren’t oblivious to the hold-up. Caleb McLaughlin, who plays Lucas Sinclair, added a touch of humor about it on Twitter.

McLaughlin posted an advanced peek at Season 5 together with an image of him, Sadie Sink, and Maya Hawke looking noticeably older from their appearances in Season 4.

Halfway through the filming of season 5 in July 2024, a sneak peek was given, offering a glimpse into the set and the cast.

1. Members of the team behind the show have been building anticipation about the upcoming season finale, promising viewers that it’s definitely going to be a rewarding experience. In fact, actress Maya Hawke hinted on Podcrushed that each installment in season 5 will be quite extensive.

Based on my experience as a dedicated fan of this show, I firmly believe that seasons 4 and 5 are not just connected but form a cohesive whole. While it’s unconventional for streaming platforms to split a season into parts with distinct release dates, this is an exception. This final stretch of episodes serves as the culmination of the storyline initiated in season 4, part 1. It’s been a long time since we last saw our favorite characters on screen, and the anticipation has only grown stronger.

Matt and Ross Duffer, our showrunners, play a significant role in the production process. While they work closely with an exceptional writing team, they are deeply engaged and assume much accountability for the final product.

“They produce an abundance of content and take great care in ensuring its excellence, resulting in lengthy production periods for each season, as well as filming.”
