As a long-time Microsoft user, I have grown accustomed to the occasional hiccups and outages that come with using their services. However, this latest Azure outage has proven to be particularly frustrating, especially given the recent issues with Crowdstrike last week. As I sit here trying to work, I find myself unable to access Microsoft 365, Outlook, or even my Xbox network – services I rely on heavily for both personal and professional use.


Microsoft is experiencing yet another significant disruption, coming shortly after last week’s incident involving Crowdstrike.

Currently, various services linked to Azure, such as Microsoft 365, Xbox Live network, Outlook, OneDrive, among others, are encountering problems. Notably, there has been an increase in reports of connection issues on Down Detector.

Azure represents Microsoft’s extensive global cloud infrastructure, comprised of numerous data centers spread across the world. Recently, an issue has arisen that seems to be affecting all regions globally, with the exception of Microsoft’s Azure for Government segment. This segregated portion benefits from extra safeguards designed specifically for government entities.

Around 11:45 UTC on the 30th of July, 2024, some Microsoft service users might have encountered connection problems worldwide.

Current Situation: We’ve made networking adjustments and activated backup paths. Our data shows an enhancement in service accessibility starting around 14:10 UTC, and we’re closely monitoring the situation for a complete restoration.
