Deadpool & Wolverine: Ryan Reynolds Reveals Photo of Wrexham AFC Player as Deadpool Variant

As a die-hard Marvel and Wrexham AFC fan, I couldn’t believe my eyes when I learned that Paul Mullin, our very own “Super Mullin,” made an appearance in “Deadpool & Wolverine” as Welshpool! It was such a thrilling experience to witness the intersection of my two passions. Who would have thought that my favorite football player from Wales would end up becoming a Deadpool variant in a Marvel blockbuster?

Paul Mullin, a striker for English Football League One club Wrexham, featured in the comic book crossover of Deadpool and Wolverine; however, soccer enthusiasts might not have recognized this fact. This is because Mullin portrayed “Welshpool,” a character based on Deadpool who was identified by the Welsh flag on his chest during the climactic battle between Deadpool, Wolverine, and the Deadpools from across the multiverse. Ryan Reynolds, who co-owns Mullin’s team, praised Welshpool as being “more lethal than the rest.” In a series of backstage photos and concept art from the film, Reynolds showcased images featuring Mullin and his character, along with several shots of himself alongside Mullin on set.

Supporters of the team couldn’t hide their excitement when they discovered that “Super Mullin,” a well-known figure, was the one responsible for Welshpool. Check out the Facebook post about it here: [Link]
