As a longtime fan of the anime genre, I can confidently say that the making of any anime series is nothing short of a herculean task. But when it comes to the highly anticipated second season of “Mashle: Magic & Muscles”, it seems like Akihito Suzuki and his team at A-1 Pictures have taken things to a whole new level.
As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but express my excitement over the growing popularity of “Mashle: Magic & Muscles” in the anime community. This captivating series, with its extraordinary protagonist, is now under development by A-1 Pictures for an upcoming anime project. Just recently, at this year’s Anime Expo, our team from ComicBook had the privilege of attending a panel where Mashle’s director, Akihito Suzuki, shared insights into the process of transforming the manga into an anime adaptation. It goes without saying that creating an anime series is no walk in the park, and Suzuki provided us with fascinating details about the creation of season two’s episodes.
Hey there fellow gamers! As Mashle’s game designer, I got the chance to share some insights about the upcoming season at Anime Expo. Let me tell you, breathing life back into Mash Burnedead wasn’t a walk in the park. We start with a sketch, then bring in our animators as we trace and refine it. After that, we digitize the artwork and add extra details. And guess what? We don’t just stop there! We color every single pixel before putting everything together – characters, backgrounds, and all. That’s the final step before I mix all those elements to create the final masterpiece you’ll see on your screens!
Mashle: Season 2’s Rigourous Schedule
Suzuki explained, “In addition to working on compositing, I oversee the overall aesthetic and ensure harmony across frames. During my final edits, I might adjust a character’s position slightly or bring them closer to the camera for better balance. I collaborate closely with the director to make these decisions. Furthermore, I handle the lighting and all studio effects, so each day on Mashle brings its own unique challenges.”
If you haven’t had the chance to catch the first two seasons of Mashle: Magic & Muscles, the first two seasons are available to stream on Crunchyroll. Here’s how the streaming service describes the series, “This is a world of magic. This is a world in which magic is casually used by everyone. In a deep, dark forest in this world of magic, there is a boy who is singlemindedly working out. His name is Mash Burnedead, and he has a secret. He can’t use magic. All he wanted was to live a quiet life with his family, but people suddenly start trying to kill him one day and he somehow finds himself enrolled in Magic School. There, he sets his sights on becoming a ‘Divine Visionary,’ the elite of the elite. Will his ripped muscles work against the best and brightest of the wizarding world? The curtain rises on this off-kilter magical fantasy in which the power of being jacked crushes any spell!”
