PlayStation Seemingly Leaks Next PSP Re-Release for PS5 and PS4

As a long-time PlayStation fan who grew up with the PSP and cherished every moment spent exploring its rich library of games, this news about the potential re-release of “Secret Agent Clank” on PS5 and PS4 has me positively buzzing! The nostalgia is strong in this one, folks. I remember playing that game for hours on end, trying to outsmart enemies with Clank’s spy gadgets.

It appears that Sony might have accidentally revealed the upcoming re-release of a game originally from the PlayStation Portable (PSP) on both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 consoles. Over the past few years, Sony has been focusing on making games from the PSP more easily playable on modern hardware, and this trend seems to be continuing. For instance, titles like “Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters” and “Jeanne d’Arc” were made available on PS5 and PS4 in July, much to the delight of gamers. Now, there are hints that another PSP game could soon return.

A Twitter user @realradec pointed out that PlayStation highlighted some fresh additions to PlayStation Plus in an email they sent out. Among these games was “Secret Agent Clank,” a spin-off of the Ratchet & Clank series originally for PSP. Interestingly, while “Secret Agent Clank” is listed as part of PS Plus, it isn’t available on either PS5 or PS4 at this time. This might suggest that the game’s inclusion in the email could have been an oversight in their marketing communication.

In essence, it’s quite possible that the game, “Secret Agent Clank”, will appear on both PS5 and PS4. This is because it’s the only Ratchet & Clank title not currently available on modern consoles. Most of the games from the PS2 and PS3 era can be played through cloud streaming technology offered by PS Plus Premium. All other entries in the series are playable directly on these consoles. Therefore, if “Secret Agent Clank” is released, it would ensure that the entire Ratchet & Clank franchise could be enjoyed on both PS5 and PS4. Given Sony’s interest in making the franchise accessible, this seems a likely scenario.

Apologize for any confusion, but it seems the email from PlayStation might have been a slip-up. It appears they were actually referring to Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters, as this game was recently added to PS Plus, rather than Secret Agent Clank. As for the latter, we’re unsure if it will eventually arrive on PS5 and PS4, though more details may surface in August.
