XDefiant Reveals New Update With Patch Notes

As a seasoned battle royale veteran, I find these updates to be quite intriguing and promising! The reduction in spread for shotguns will undoubtedly add a new layer of strategy and skill to the game, making encounters more tense and unpredictable.

It’s fair to say that Ubisoft’s game XDefiant faced a challenging development process. Initially planned for release last year, it eventually launched on May 21st due to multiple development hurdles. Despite these delays, the free-to-play shooter attracted over a million unique players shortly after hitting the market. However, this large player base also led to several server problems that Ubisoft had to rectify. Fortunately, most of those issues have been resolved, allowing the team to concentrate on upcoming content updates such as tomorrow’s Y1S1.3 patch.

Before July 31st, the latest update for XDefiant won’t officially be rolled out, but Ubisoft decided to reveal its contents a day early for fans. The new update introduces significant adjustments, such as modifications to some ranked modes. Now, ranked matches won’t commence unless your game has at least eight players participating. Furthermore, Ubisoft removed the “Leave” option from the map-voting screen in an attempt to deter players from leaving early. The XDefiant team has also rebalanced several weapons, with shotguns receiving the most attention and receiving numerous updates.

Here are the details of the Y1S1.3 update for XDefiant – jump into the action now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, or your preferred PC platform! I can’t wait to see what this latest update brings to the game.

Gameplay

XP Boosters will no longer count down when you’re killing time in the Practice Zone.

To make aiming up, down, left, and right more even for controllers, we can enhance the vertical sensitivity of aim-down-sights (ADS). This adjustment ensures a smoother and more consistent experience when adjusting your aim in all directions.

Game Modes

In the new setup for Ranked mode, we’ve ensured that at least eight players are required before a game starts. Additionally, to prevent players from leaving during map selection, the ‘Leave’ button has been removed from that screen. If players still find a way to exit during this phase, the match will be cancelled.

CTF mode is now available in Ranked play.

Factions

With Echelon’s Intel Suit equipped, players can now detect enemies even when they are hidden behind walls. However, teammates will still be able to view enemy positions on the mini-map as usual.

Priorly, DedSec’s spiderbots would surprise players by landing on their faces, an action that didn’t gain them any supporters. Now, they attack opponents only when they are very close or “face-hugging,” a term used to describe a stage in a relationship where one is extremely near another.

Weapons

It seems that the Rapid Fire Barrel and Muzzle Booster enhancements were unintentionally reducing recoil on certain firearms (like the ACR 6.8 and AK-47). However, this issue has been addressed and corrected now.

Decreased the MP7 gun’s ammo magazine capacity from 35 to 30, and lowered its firing speed from 875 to 850 rounds per minute.

It’s an extravaganza of shotgun balancing. Here’s the nitty-gritty of each weapon’s tuning:

  • M870

    • Short range increased from 10m to 13m.
    • Medium range increased from 15m to 18m.

    • Hipfire spread range reduced roughly 10 percent from 3.4-4.0 to 3.0-3.6 degrees.
    • Aim spread range reduced roughly 18 percent from 2.55-3.0 to 2.0-2.6 degrees.
    • Crouch hipfire spread range reduced from 2.89-3.4 to 2.7-3.2 degrees.
    • Crouch aim spread range reduced from 2.55-3.0 to 2.0-2.6 degrees.

    • Crouch slide, in air, and mantle aim spread range reduced from 3.4-3.4 to 2.5-3.0 degrees.
  • AA-12

    • Short range increased from 7m to 10m.
    • Medium range increased from 10m to 13m.
    • Hipfire spread range reduced roughly 10 percent from 4.75-6.5 to 4.25-6.0 degrees.

    • Crouch slide, in air, and mantle aim spread range reduced from 3.75-3.75 to 3.0-3.5 degrees.
  • Double Barrel

    • Short range increased from 12m to 15m.
    • Medium range increased from 16m to 19m.
    • Reserve ammo increased from 12 to 16.
    • Crouch slide, in air, and mantle spread reduced by 40 percent from 11.13-15 to 7-11 degrees.
  • Sawed-Off Shotgun

    • Reserve ammo increased from 6 to 10.
    • Sprint-to-shoot time reduced from 250ms to 150ms.
    • Crouch slide, in air, and mantle spread reduced by 40 percent, from 11.25-15.0 to 6.68-9.0 degrees.

The reduction in the bonus spread for the Pistol Grip and PEQ-15 Laser accessories on shotguns has been adjusted from a 20% minimum and maximum decrease to a 15% decrease instead.

Lastly, the shotgun’s reticle expands slightly when jumping, as indicated by the widened crosshairs on the HUD.

Devices

Sticky grenades now stay put rather than disappearing if the deploying player kicks the bucket.

Miscellaneous

In my gaming experience, I’ve noticed that when I play games in fullscreen mode on a secondary screen and have the “lock mouse to game window” feature enabled, the cursor doesn’t move to the main display anymore.

Resolved a problem that halted the accurate update of players’ kill-to-death ratios following the conclusion of games.
